9/3: LATEST UPDATE ON ALL THINGS HAPPENING

This is a letter going out to my email data base today. In case you aren’t on the mailing list posting here as well:

Hope everyone had a great Summer! For me it was by far the busiest I have ever had with nine straight weekends on the road and all over the world. Did a combination of appearances, book signings, hosting gigs, and live shows with Don & Jim. Even went to Bogota to visit the amazing South American fans and speak at a conference. So many great moments that are impossible to recap here. If you follow on Twitter or read the Trunk Report blog on the site or check my FB page I’m sure you saw the photos and stories as it unfolded. Just a blast and not done yet! I have upcoming appearances in NJ, Houston, Louisiana and more TBA. Everything confirmed is on the home page of the site as usual.

I also launched my first podcast a couple months ago and it has been a great success thanks to you guys! Appreciate all the artists that made time for interviews such as King Diamond, Judas Priest, Brian May, Night Ranger, Blitz from Overkill and many more. The Eddie Trunk Podcast is new every Thursday, totally free, and available worldwide via Itunes or at www.podcastone.com New this week will be Michael Anthony! Coming soon Ace Frehley, Slash, Steve Morse, Doro, Mark Tornillo and more. Be sure to subscribe on Itunes and get every new episode automatically.

My radio shows continue on. Year 31 for the FM syndicated show (Eddie Trunk Rocks) which is now back on in Boston on WAAF. This show now airs the same weekend on all stations, so no more delays. It debuts on Q104.3 NYC and AAF same time every week. A note to my NYC area listeners; all ticket giveaways are now done on my site in “ET’s Box Office”. Please be sure to register to win by following that tab. You will be notified a few days before each show if you are a winner and on the list. Eddie Trunk Live on SiriusXM 39 TRUNKNation has had some major guests lately and that will continue into the Fall as I bring you live music and talk that rocks 6-10P ET.

Was great seeing all the Eddie Trunk / Trunk Nation shirts out there this Summer. Thanks to all who have checked out the merch in my store on the site. Also both of my books are available signed directly from me. Just hit the Books tab on the site.

Finally, I am getting tons of email asking about new episodes of That Metal Show. This was addressed in the Trunk Report but if you missed it the show will be back. We will shoot in January and new episodes will air in Feb 2015. Where we shoot, when exactly and who the guests will be all still TBD and I’ll let you know when I know. As always please follow on Twitter, FB and Instagram (eddietrunkofficial) for more up to the second news and info. Football is here! Psyched!

Can’t wait for the new podcast tomorrow with Mad Anthony! Michael Anthony has been my favorite bass player since ’78, and still is! Chris Squire, John Deacon, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Tom Hamilton, love ’em all, but IMO, Mikey’s the best! 🙂

I doubt John Deacon would ever happen. The guy’s been a media ghost since he stopped playing with Queen in the late 90’s, and avoids the spotlight like a vampire avoids sunlight. Although interestingly, he’s still active in the band behind the scenes according to Brian May. For instance, he handles their finances.

But you never know. Eddie got Axl Rose out of nowhere. Twice.

Deacy is sorely missed. His absence is the reason that I did not want to see Brian, Roger and Adam this Summer. Nobody can replace Freddie, but John Deacon added that special something to Queen that cannot be ignored.

Thank you Eddie, greatest podcast yet! Finally, a in-depth interview with Michael Anthony. Well, the first one I’ve heard, other than TMS, but this one pretty much answered all my questions. As much as Mikey possibly could! Always takes the high road, always! I love all the projects Mikey’s been doing with Sammy over the last 10 years or so, but like most, I would absolutely love a reunion with Mikey, Dave, Al & Ed, it might not sound like ’78 – ’84 again, wouldn’t matter, it would still be Van Halen and it would still be great! 🙂

    Eddie,

Any news on Aces tour? Wondering since he’s putting a band together, so just a few shows or a real tour? Get him to Hollywood Hard Rock, it would be a great venue for him and he doesn’t come to south Florida since probably when he was with Kiss. I’m a big critic of him usually, but the guy has put out a great album, so would love to see him live…

Congratulations on your success, you smell terrific! Seriously, doing an awesome job Eddie. Hope to see you in Portland, OR again. Looking forward to Michael Anthony’s interview, the only true bass player Van Halen ever had. Peace!

Go Eagles!!!! C’mon now! Fly Eagles Fly:^)

    • Dana on

I respect you as a die hard Eagles fan Steve, that’s all 😀

I want all you Giants fans to enjoy the anticipation while it lasts, and I want all you Seattle fans to sit tight for the inevitable decline. The San Francisco 49ers are coming for all you people.

    • Dana on

      Mark,

Leave my Giants out of this-LOL! Remember we had to topple your team to advance to the Super Bowl. We did, Eli took a massive beating and kept going. We are in a transition year, so let’s just leave it at that 🙂

      Go G-MEN!

      Dana 🙂

I do remember that awful year, when the Giants got past us at Candlestick, and went on to win it all.

    • Dana on

      Mark,

While I realize that was a low point for you, and I completely understand why, that was a turning point for me in regards to how I viewed Eli Manning. In that one game, Manning earned all my respect and removed any past grievances that I had with him as a QB. Trust me, had that been Tom Brady, whom I also admire as a player, he would have been crying like an infant to every ref on the field. Eli took those hard knocks like a man, got up, composed himself and kept going. An extremely commendable performance.

I have no problem with 49’ners, and actually like them along with the Steelers and the Packers. All my back up choices should the Giants ever be out of contention.

      Cheers,
      D 🙂

    • John wood on

No real Giants fan has cute little “back up choices.”

    • Dana on

Thanks for judging me and telling me what kind of Giants fan I am, I am sure the entire organization agrees with you 🙄 You do know that the Mara’s and the Rooney’s are related, right?

Also, for the record, my comment was in response to Mark. So, let’s end it here.
