7/9: THE KISS NO ORIGINAL MEMBERS STORY.

Last night we posted a story in the news section that was sent to me via Twitter about Kiss replacing Gene and Paul and continuing on with a band of no original members. We later found out the original story was from 2008. While the haters will just attack and say it was calculated to further some insane anti – Kiss agenda (love how I am so anti Kiss and STILL PLAY ALL THEIR MUSIC, too funny!), I left it up for two reasons. One the amount of differing opinions on this generated in comments was interesting and ALL views were posted, and two this is still the plan and closer than ever to happening! If this is what they were planning 6 years ago it is really just around the corner now! Clearly the way they do it might be altered but this is still happening and the band has discussed it in the press even recently. So nothing has changed except for it is more imminent! I am hearing maybe two years away from launching at this point with the current (Gene and Paul) band having maybe one more run left after the current tour. What was stunning about this is how many saw it as major news they never heard? This has been talked about and discussed for a long time by Gene and Paul. So no mater where you fall on it I decided to leave it up because I found ALL sides of the reaction interesting and posted ALL response to it. Unlike some I respect and appreciate all opinions and they are represented here as well as my radio and TV shows. But to see this as some crazy dated story that is no longer the plan is not the case. Some may want to live in some fantasy land but all our heroes are getting older (so are we!) and how they handle the end of their careers will be interesting. Who really retires, who stuck around too long, who does bands with no original members. All good debate and all welcome here.

  1. Ever seen Blue Man group? there are several of them, TSO? at least two touring ones during the XMAS season. KISS is a show, so it could be done like any touring theatre show. CATs, Phantom, etc. It is a brand, although I do think they would be hard pressed to find people to replace Gene and Paul.

    1. I am anti the impersonation act, true. But guess what? STILL the ONLY one that plays those albums also in their home (#1) market! Because I let fans decide and don’t censor and block them when they respectfully disagree, unlike the constant daily stories I hear from fans blocked with having differing views from G&P

    2. OK, Trunk, I am going to attempt to refute your post: you need Kiss because they bolster your ratings, that is why you play them. And ,Kiss Alive XIVII, Paul’s alternate reality, Eisen-hower, Mr. Pinball Kiss Wizard….LEAVE TRUNK ALONE!! (I am sobbing now) LEAVE HIM ALOOONEEE! ….

    3. So, (insert current alias here), it’s called a tour, the Forum, that’s one show, so, let’s see the tour is probably between 50-75 shows..and uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah, I need you to come to work on Sat. uhhhh yeah..

  2. Any way you slice it, it just seems like it will be a glorified, endorsed tribute band. Maybe Gene & Paul know something we don’t. Maybe launching it as the second coming will make it seem legit. Hard to imagine though.

  3. This is really a natural progression for this band. They do things like this because they can, not because they want to follow some rule for how bands should fade away. It may not work, but it will be interesting seeing them try. Just wait till you see the crazies that go for these spots. It’s never been done…so GO FOR IT! This idea seems a lot better than an indoor football team.

  4. And Aerosmith will still be out there kicking ass with the ’72 line-up. Too bad airplay on their recent LP was dead, their best in 20+ years.

    1. I’m a huge Aerosmith fan, but I think Dimension is their worst in 20 years–just my opinion.
