Last night we posted a story in the news section that was sent to me via Twitter about Kiss replacing Gene and Paul and continuing on with a band of no original members. We later found out the original story was from 2008. While the haters will just attack and say it was calculated to further some insane anti – Kiss agenda (love how I am so anti Kiss and STILL PLAY ALL THEIR MUSIC, too funny!), I left it up for two reasons. One the amount of differing opinions on this generated in comments was interesting and ALL views were posted, and two this is still the plan and closer than ever to happening! If this is what they were planning 6 years ago it is really just around the corner now! Clearly the way they do it might be altered but this is still happening and the band has discussed it in the press even recently. So nothing has changed except for it is more imminent! I am hearing maybe two years away from launching at this point with the current (Gene and Paul) band having maybe one more run left after the current tour. What was stunning about this is how many saw it as major news they never heard? This has been talked about and discussed for a long time by Gene and Paul. So no mater where you fall on it I decided to leave it up because I found ALL sides of the reaction interesting and posted ALL response to it. Unlike some I respect and appreciate all opinions and they are represented here as well as my radio and TV shows. But to see this as some crazy dated story that is no longer the plan is not the case. Some may want to live in some fantasy land but all our heroes are getting older (so are we!) and how they handle the end of their careers will be interesting. Who really retires, who stuck around too long, who does bands with no original members. All good debate and all welcome here.

I have always believed since adding Tommy and Eric they should bill themselves out as KISS featuring Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley…..I saw them last on the first night of the Canadian tour in 2013. What a disappointment. The stage show only gets bigger to detract from the fact they are getting too old to do this anymore…The cliché says better to burn out than fade away, well they have burned out. Time to take your final curtain and go out while you still have some dignity left.
Been predicting it for years.
The brand will always have value
I see either a Rockstar INXS type show where KISS auditions their replacements
OR
While KISS is still active, new footage shot of each member 360 performing all of their songs and various banter
This can later be used to create a holographic KISS show with the ability to change it up year to year. Either traveling or for expense purposes, have it in 2 or 3 major (tourism heavy) cities as a residency
Just amazed how this is news to people. The band has been saying it for years and even said it in Rolling Stone recently. The differing comments are fascinating and this will happen. Love all the discussions
The holographic Kiss show, you should present your idea to G and P, it is not that bad:-)
I honestly have no problem with this, so long as they are honest about it.
Listen to what Paul says to the children of KISS fans in this video. http://youtu.be/eCFx0TX4rxk
Eddie is spot on, regarding this one. They will do this
If it happens, I think it will be the final and only too logical business move after they have been franchising the brand directly or indirectly in their merchandise as well as regarding LA Kiss and Rock and Brews etc., of the original band that meant something in terms of music, attitude, influence on people’s lives etc., there will be nothing left of that. Maybe they can establish some sort of musical or Kiss Experience in Vegas and thereby continue the band with new members, but I do not think this will work as a regular touring band. I mean, the current almost-original lineup, apart from co-headlining, but only draw about 10,000 today, a totally non-original band will not even come close to that, I guess.
I’m surprised Ace and Peter haven’t toured as Kiss II or some such more creative name. Gene would sue them no matter what, but it would make for good theatre.
