Hope you guys all enjoyed the all new That Metal Show last night. It’s been great to be able to feature such a wide variety of rock, hard rock and metal in the shows evolution. Guys like Mick Jones and Leslie West have so much history it’s hard to even scratch the surface on TV with the time we have. Was cool seeing Marty Friedman geek out over Mick Jones “Hot Blooded” solo! Huge thanks to Leslie West for the amazing guitar. Had no idea that was coming! One day I MUST learn to play! Was also cool to have Lita jam. She is a big part of our shows history as the first ever guest, and now the first ever woman to perform for us. I did talk with Leslie about the loss of his leg and I did talk with Mick about Lou Gramm and the recent performance at the songwriters HOF but it was cut for time. Some will likely end up as online extras. I’ll post links when I can or visit www.thatmetalshow.vh1.com for more. Show replays all week. Next taping is this Tuesday in NYC with Mick Mars! So cool to have the unsung hero of Motley on our show for the hour. Truly underrated player too! Mick will also be in studio with me tomorrow for a LIVE TRUNKNation 6-10P ET on SiriusXM channel 39. Don’t miss it! More soon.
Quick update on the Kiss R&R HOF drama. My sources telling me that as of now, unless Gene and Paul change their mind and decide to play with the original band, there will be no performance of any kind for the bands induction. Common thought was that perhaps an all star band would be assembled to tribute Kiss since there is no performance from them now with any version of the band. But there will be no tribute either. Likely just a video package on the screens. So where we stand now is no performance at all of any kind related to Kiss, or the original band does a song or two in or out of makeup. And we all no as of now that ain’t happening. Still time for things to change but very reliable sources telling me that’s the HOF position as of now. Also each of the four original members get 3 minutes each for their speeches during the induction and only those inducted are at the podium for those speeches.

The HOF is a fucking joke. I’m a little disappointed that Gene & Paul even planned to attend to go in the first place. As for a reunion, it’s over and played out. Everybody needs to get over it and move on. Especially Ace, Peter and Eddie.
When did I ever say I wanted a reunion? When did Ace and Peter say it beyond a song with the guys they are being inducted with? Amazing the conclusions and misinformation people formulate based on nothing.. I have consistently said I do NOT want a reunion. Check my posts..
You are milking the “controversy” pretty damn hard. How long would this have been a story if you had not used your radio show, your tv show and your website to push it? Don’t ever wonder why Gene and Paul won’t come on That Metal Show from this point on.
Really? I have been a Kiss fan and supporter for decades and screamed for 15 years to get them in the HOF and this shouldn’t be a story in your eyes since what I do IS cover this stuff for a living? Stunning! That’s like telling ESPN to not cover sports. Sorry I provide a forum here for ALL views..
Eddie obviously this guy is misinformed don’t sweat it bro this guy probably don’t watch your show or fully read your blogs
ace and peter should get with aces band……do shock me, the acoustic beth and something else….
They can not take over an event that also has 7 other bands playing and going in. This is not just about Kiss and the HOF runs this. Can’t just do what you want sadly
eddie there may not be many bands playing this year….
It was great seeing Mick Jones. Bands like that, Foreigner, April Wine, Nazareth, Head East, Styx and many others all played the part in being gateway bands for me.
But the Kiss thing, so disappointing that Super Egos like Gene are taking an opportunity away from the fans. HOF aside, it’s a one show, last time celebration of the 40 years of the music and it’s effect on society. My parents watched me go nuts in the 70’s, paint our faces and make plywood guitars. Who does that over a band? A Kiss fan! If they fail to vindicate this with their fans I’ll never feel a celebration would be necessary for their acknowledged impact. Get over it and play! And “Shout it out Loud” might be appropriate.
Hey Eddie, This whole Rock and Roll HOF induction of KISS is turning into a farce. Being an old time fan of the original band members, I have waited for their chance to be inducted into the HOF so they can finally get the recognition they have deserved for so long as much as any of the other loyal KISS fans. It is understandable that Gene and Paul don’t want to downplay their current band situation as you had said in your earlier post, but being inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF IS WHAT THE FANS OF THE ORIGINAL BAND HAVE WAITED FOR!!!
It is so hard to understand when Gene and Paul always point out that they could never have made it this long, have gotten to where they are and always want to thank their fans for the years of loyalty they have shown that they will not give us this ONE LAST THANK YOU and play together for ONE NIGHT.
I have been a KISS fan even through the breakups and replacement players in the band since their beginning and have always supported them as a fan. But the original band lineup is what made them who they are! The personality of KISS whether it is the makeup, the show, the MUSIC or the mystery surrounding the band in the old days had evolved from the original members and will always be remembered as such!
I was at the KISS reunion show June 28, 1996 in Detroit as I know you were too! It was one of the greatest thrills I had the chance to experience after waiting like so many other fans for that moment to happen! Seeing the original members on stage together, playing their original songs and performing old school was amazing!
It is going to be unforgivable for KISS to be remembered for this disappointment. Come on Gene and Paul, be true to the words you both have spoken over all the years to the ones who have supported the band and do what’s right for your fans just once more.
Don’t know what else to say. Love your show Eddie! You always tell it like it is!
Eddie ,any word yet on who would be inducting Kiss at the Ceremony?
Yes but can not say yet. Not Kravitz although a good idea
