2/22: NEW TMS TONIGHT, MORE.

In all the Kiss craziness just a quick reminder ALL NEW That Metal Show tonight 11/10C on VH1C with Charlie Benante on drums, Scorpion Child on Metal Modem and Chris and Randy from Lamb Of God as the guests. Even if you are not a fan of LOG music I think you will find this story interesting to say the least.

Amazing amount of comments about the Ace stuff. Appreciate all the interaction and debate. For those that think this might be some sort of misdirection tactic I can tell you Peter is in the same boat and will release his statement soon and the HOF confirmed Kiss’ position with me last night. That’s not to say things can change. It is just where things stand now on the eve of tickets going on sale, which is why Ace went public last night.

I’m off to see Buckcherry in NJ. Comments will be posted ASAP as they come in. Enjoy TMS and have a good weekend. More soon no doubt.

  1. Ed , im sorry my friend! But not happy with tonights TMS. Rob made some elitist comments about White Lion, was embarrassed to admit his first album was VH’S 1984 and called everyone on the panel P*SSIES when they all chose another band than his easy tough guy choice, Slayer. I don’t care if he was somewhat joking BUT that was disrespectful to everyone else – especially CHARLIE BENANTE WHO IS A MEMBER OF A BAND NOT JUST PART OF THE CHOICES, BUT A BAND THAT HAS PAVED THE WAY FOR ONES LIKE LAMB OF GOD.
He easily played to the elitist, corny, tacky, crowd pleasing HARD ASS, MACHO reputation (even though he was dressed tonight like he should be in an indie band) of a heavier band mocking a “hair band” – White Lion. Enough is enough. We are lucky ROCK STILL EXISTS on some level and should appreciate ALL who are still rockin & representing no matter what kinds of hard rock & metal you are in to(Mike Tramp from WL is still touring) instead of taring them down and feeding into easy stigmas that bands and fans have worked hard to get rid of.
Ed, sorry – the P*SSIES comment was too much for me to handle (cheap apology to Charlie B was messed up too) and Im afraid the TMS powers that be are proudly sticking to metal bands like these guys that are a little too “new” for the core classic audience. Slow growing fan chatter of this and some other reasons few are turning away from TMS may sadly become the show’s undoing eventually. Lets hope next (hopeful) season is a much better one.

    1. Tom, I didn’t watch the show yet but I do recall backing White Lion and not falling into that when it came up. I respect all opinions even if I don’t agree with them and don’t cave to that crap. This season has been universally reviewed by many as our best yet. Variety is what we do and the LOG story is fascinating even if you don’t like the music. As for classic, next week we have Leslie West and Mick Jones, so that’s about a sold school as it gets. Variety..
