A message to the loyal fans of That Metal Show from Eddie, Jim & Don:
We are sorry to report that VH1 Classic will not continue to make any new episodes of That Metal Show. It has been an incredible run of eight years, roughly 125 episodes and some really cool specials. The global response to TMS has been simply amazing, and we will be eternally grateful for the support from the rock and metal fans that have showed us so much love. We truly would have never made it as long as we did without you! A huge thanks also to the great crews we had over the years both in NYC and Los Angeles, to our producer Jeff Baumgardner, and to all the executives at VH1. And finally, thanks to the hundreds of artists that joined us on our set, had fun with us, shared their stories and many, many laughs. From the biggest names in rock history, to the up-and-comers: we thank you all for being a part of it.
Of course we very much want to keep That Metal Show alive, and with the blessing of VH1 Classic, we’ve got the keys to the show and are currently searching for a new home. We’re not sure where we’ll land, but we hope to be back in our studio and your living rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep an eye out for us on the road and come say, “Hello.”
Thank you for watching all these years, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.

Hi Eddie my name is Brian Reddington and I live in West Orange New Jersey and I like you support Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music and I had this in my gut that That Metal Show would end when I saw the other two networks would switch too that BET s–t and I hate that RAP and HipHop and POP have taken over everything and I will always support the music that we love METAL and I listen too Q104.3 and Sirius XM keep the Metal flag flying
and Dana when will the new eddietrunk.com relaunch eddie keeps saying that a new website is in the works
Brian,
I am not sure. I will ask Eddie when he returns from the Def Leppard cruise.
Cheers,
D 🙂
Wow, that’s really disappointing. Hearing that the channel as a whole is in trouble just makes me feel like this is the next step in the continuing degradation of the value of music in our society today – not just for rock and metal but as a whole. The whole “why should I pay for it, I deserve it for free” mentality, where no funding goes to anything but the mega pop and rap “stars” that the big networks and corporate sponsors try to push on everyone. If you’re a rock band and weren’t already a big deal by about 2000, or don’t have a member who’s already famous, you’re screwed.
This year just keeps getting worse by the day…
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE find a new home. I absolutely loved TMS. AXS TV as suggested a few times above, would seem like the best fit. We need our hard rock and heavy metal!!
AXS like VH1C does not want to spend the money at the moment to do the show as it was done. Can it be altered some? Maybe? We’ll see. We are doing ALL we can but it is way harder for fans to understand what really goes on with these networks and what they do and don’t want and how much they will put into production. Thanks
Eddie, I hope something gets worked out SOON – I need my TMS fix!
The idea of HBO keeps sounding like a good fit to me…
Eddie, Please DO NOT let VH1 be the killer of this KILLER show. We will support you I promise! Find a home and let’s start a new segment about creative ways to kick VH1 in their nutsacks. KEEP IT GOING PLEASE! The world needs a metal show, that is obvious! Aloha from Hawaii
