A message to the loyal fans of That Metal Show from Eddie, Jim & Don:
“We are sorry to report that VH1 Classic will not continue to make any new episodes of That Metal Show. It has been an incredible run of eight years, roughly 125 episodes and some really cool specials. The global response to TMS has been simply amazing, and we will be eternally grateful for the support from the rock and metal fans that have showed us so much love. We truly would have never made it as long as we did without you! A huge thanks also to the great crews we had over the years both in NYC and Los Angeles, to our producer Jeff Baumgardner, and to all the executives at VH1. And finally, thanks to the hundreds of artists that joined us on our set, had fun with us, shared their stories and many, many laughs. From the biggest names in rock history, to the up-and-comers: we thank you all for being a part of it.
Of course we very much want to keep That Metal Show alive, and with the blessing of VH1 Classic, we’ve got the keys to the show and are currently searching for a new home. We’re not sure where we’ll land, but we hope to be back in our studio and your living rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep an eye out for us on the road and come say, “Hello.”
Thank you for watching all these years, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.”

Eddie,
I gotta say this is tough news ~ it comes on the heals of you have a couple of probably your best years running the show. Then we have lost three top rock musicians in just a couple weeks. I sort of feel like a show like yours is more important for rock music fans more now than ever.
Let’s face it M-TV stopped being about the music long ago, and VH1 hasn’t entirely captured the opportunity they had to be the torch light for rock music entirely.
It’s a changed world, but my personal opinion is on the heals of RUSH’s R40 Tour – music needs more bands with real staying power like RUSH, IRON MAIDEN, AC/DC, and METALLICA have done for decades.
The opportunity is still there, and rock music has always been progressive, as it should be, but it needs to continue.
If we have learned nothing from losing great musical artist recently – perhaps it’s the message of RUSH’s 2112 – if we don’t support music now – it could be worse for future generations.
Eddie, I am SO bummed I did not meet you at the RUSH show in Denver because we were in close proximity to one another – I wound up in the front and I heard you were in 4th row – best seat I ever got on a fluke…. but I loved your interview with Alex – totally great stuff.
Thanks you!
Great show!!! Hope you find a new home soon!! Why not make a pitch to Netflix?
Everyone will be pitched. Do they want it? We will see..thanks
PALLADIA! TMS in HD, finally! Palladia would be the perfect network for TMS.
Palladia is owned by VH1. If they wanted the show they would have moved it there. I tried. Thanks
No offense, but how many times can you watch Lars Ulrich, Billy Sheehan and Zack Wilde? Now where are Ace and Peter going to go to trash Gene and Paul?
Really intelligent statement about a show that had 200+ guests in its history…Haters will hat I guess, no surprise..
Eddie we are fans of Metal and NO ONE flies our flag higher. We will follow you on your Podcasts, Radio shows, and Live appearances. I went to Tony’s Benefit and it was incredible! You have always found away to keep yourself and our Music relevant. I’m sure you will reinvent TMS to New heights whatever it is. And we will stand with you as brothers in arms! Thanks again for all you have done and will still do. -Mike-
Very kind of you, thanks!
Eddie,
Ignore the snarky, negative comments. Your show is the only show where we can go and get quality interviews with our favorite musicians. The show is fun, informative, and honest. I am sure the show will find a new home. I can’t wait!
