VAN HALEN PERFORM “PANAMA” AND “RUNNIN’ WITH THE DEVIL” ON “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!”

VanHalen2012 As previously reported, Van Halen performed live on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (March 30th). Watch their performances of Panama and Runnin’ With The Devil below.

Kimmel stated that six thousand fans lined up on Hollywood Boulevard to see the band. Unfortunately, Roth reportedly had to call an abrupt stop to Panama, when he announced that he had injured his nose on his microphone. “Let me get this taped up,” Roth said, making an apologetic exit from the stage. “How do I look? Like fucking Hiawatha, right?” Roth joked.

The band is promoting their new live concert album, Tokyo Dome Live In Concert, which is out today (March 31st). Van Halen have also announced tour dates starting July 5th in Seattle, WA and wrapping up on October 2nd in Los Angeles, CA. To view their entire tour schedule, please click here.

Also, in honor of Van Halen appearing on the show that night, Kimmel asks during a man-on-the-street segment, “Do you have a Van Halen tattoo?”

Van Halen will be back tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for their second night of a two night appearance on the show.

  1. Wow, that was painful to watch. I think I could sing better than Diamond Dave at this point. I love VH but wow. Anyone who would pay $150 to hear that in concert in summer has got to be out of their mind. It seemed like even Eddie was lookin’ at Dave like “what the heck is going on here?”

  2. I’ll admit EVH sounded great, and even AVH too. But man, how the heck can anyone say DLR was great too? The guy was an absolute train wreck on the mic, it was an embarrassment! All I hear from others is how Paul Stanley’s voice is shot and should call it a career. After listening to DLR last night, “Diamond Dave” needs to retire now. It was like watching Paul Stanley and Vince Neil combined. I certainly have no interest in buying the Tokyo Live album, much less going out of my way to see VH live. Oh, one more thing, Wolfie better start taking care of himself now or he won’t see 30!

    1. Yeah, at least Kiss are clever enough to not publish a live record and ridicule themselves officially. DLR was never a typical singer, but this here and the recordings on the release are plain awful. How totally escapist does one have to be to offer this to the public? Now I am almost glad VH do no longer tour Europe cause I would have been tempted to buy a ticket for one of my old time favourites.

  3. The Van Halen’s have a huge problem in my opinion. While musicianship wise they are good (Michael Anthony makes them better), they are about to embark on a massive world tour and David Lee Roth who is no longer a functional singer for this once great band. He was absolutely dreadful on Kimmel. He looked and sounded awful. Out of breath, out of tune, scared! He looked like some homeless guy who wandered on stage. If the family Van Halen are honest with themselves and watched that performance they must admit they are making a mistake with DLR. It will never happen but because the Van Halen’s are all about business, they should check their ego’s at the door and seriously consider having a heartfelt conversation with Sammy. They are investing a lot for this tour and they will want a return on their investment. VH is set to come to my home state and I was very excited to go out and buy a ticket to see them, now I seriously doubt that I will.

    1. What else is there left to do on stage when you cannot do what you are paid for? So you have to compensate walking around, trying to fill the stage with your body rather than your voice. I also thought that Eddie’s gutar playing is a bit hectic. Very sad to witness this decline. But unless people refrain from buying tickets making them think about the possible reasons, they will probably continue to tour. I call it loss of reality which befalls many artists who for decades have become used to being famous, being celebrated on stage etc., so it is hard for them to let go. And so they do not see the signs, at least they do not want to see them.

  4. The Legend of Van Halen live was always better than the real Van Halen live. Dave never sounded that good live. That said, I would rather see Diamond Dave on a bad night than see Jimmy Buffe – eh, I mean, Sam Hagar high-pitch screech his way through the mostly crappy neutered pop music that Van Hagar created.
