I love the Scorpions, I love the message, and the video is ok, but the song? Eh, I don’t know, I mean it’s slowly growing on me, wasn’t crazy about it the first time I heard it, but then again, there are tons of songs I didn’t really care for the very first time I heard them, but after a couple of listens, eventually I came to like em, even love! – well, some of em.
I have found as I’ve gotten older that it takes me a few more listens of a song before I may like it or not. Maybe it is due to having listened to a lifetime of music that my ear is a little more discerning and picky. I do remember loving my very first listen of The Struts first album. The Tokyo Motor Fist songs that were posted here have grown on me. I know that no matter how many times I listen to the new Ted Nugent song – it will never grow on me.
I agree, I love Uncle Ted, but “Come And Take It?” I’ll leave it! But I’ll tell you what though, for a 73 year old fart, Nuge still kicks ass live! I wish I had half his energy, and I’m only 55!
Compared to the tokyo tapes album , Virginia killer era tunes ,their new stuff is weak , but they are in their 70s and rich , soo this is as good as your gonna get from them now , not good enough for me to buy it – but they still kill it live from what I see , Klaus still sings great and Rudolph seems ageless , he’s amazingly strong, healthy and youthful for 70 plus ~
Robert, safe to say, none of the great bands we grew up with will ever top their early work, – Scorps, Uncle Ted, KI⚡⚡, Aerosmith, just to name a few. Occasionally we still may get a good song here and there from them, but for the most part, their future’s in the past.
Robert, the Uli Roth era is my favorite Scorpions era. The combination of Uli’s guitar playing and the heavier music is much more enjoyable to me.
Doug , I agree success and age takes away that wild hunger and drive to succeed no matter what , also youthfull experiences make great rock songs , not mature wealthy experiences 🙂
Sorry but that was weak .
