RAVEN ANNOUNCE 2017 TOUR DATES

NWoBHM legends Raven announce the first live dates for 2017. The band is excited to go back on the road again:

Raven say, “Hi there…after a longer than expected break Raven are ready and raring to get out on the road again…a quick warm up in the USA will be following by a Euro tour with old friends Hirax opening and we shall also be hitting the European festival circuit hard in 2017 – and squeeze in a USA tour – and working on South America & some more exotic locales!!! LET’S ALL KICK SOME ASS!!!”

Raven are that rare thing in music, true originals – cut these guys with a razor and they will bleed true heavy metal – a more intense live band does not exist on this planet!

The current album ExtermiNation was released in April 2015 as a digipak version (incl. 1 bonus track), 2LP gatefold green vinyl version, download and stream through SPV/Steamhammer. Watch videos for, Battle March/Tanks Treads and Destroy All Monsters, below.

I love Raven! They were my introduction to NWOBHM with their song “Inquisitor” from the Lead Weight compilation. Their 7″ single, “Hard Ride”, was the first NWOBHM single I ever bought. Got to see them a couple of times in the early 80’s, once with Metallica on the Kill em All for One tour. Great band and easy to understand how they were influential to the thrash bands. I wish they were playing several west coast dates on this tour cuz I won’t be able to make it if its just the one Ventura date.

Great to see the RAVEN are still out there kicking ass and taking names! I remember listening to these guys over at my friend Matt G.’s house way back in the day. They always sounded so raw and intense! They never were able to break through like some of the other bands of the NWOBHM era. I always thought that their music was kind of one dimensional, and not as melodic as I preferred. But you have to give them credit on surviving all these years as a working band, putting out new music, and continuing to tour. Kudos!

Not a lot of news lately. Peter Criss is playing 2 farewell shows, one in Australia and the other in the United States of America. I wonder if it’s an audition for playing a few retirement shows with Kiss. Also Uncle Ted Nugent is going on tour again which is totally amazing after all these years.

you know frank, I was thinking the same thing ,not a lot of news in the rock/metal world lately , wonder why the peter criss story was not posted here?…….. maybe it was and I didn’t see it?? . as for raven I was aware of them , but not knowing much about them I watched some clips on you tube , damn good band ! glad they are still out there doing what they love , I hope they are making a decent living , it’s got to be hard touring when your their age , even with road crew help –

Frank, I heard about that last week from ultimateclassicrock.com as well, just sucks that Peter’s final live performance won’t be with KISS. Unless…

I would love to see Uncle Ted hook up with Aerosmith again somewhere down the road!

Absolutely love Raven. Never saw them back in the day, but got the chance to see them three years ago in a small club in the ‘cuse, with badass three piece Night Demon as openers. F*kin ripped my face off they did. They came out after the show, took pics, signed autographs and just hung out with us. John Gallagher sat and talked with me and my buddy Mike for half an hour. Just great and humble guys. They drove from Buffalo to Syracuse in a bad snow storm to play for us. As Steve ‘Lipps’ Kudlow said once, that’s dedication, pal.
