The threesome first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of We Are The Champions. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of The Show Must Go On, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
“Let’s ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May. “I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” added Lambert. “The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal. I’m honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”

The retards at GMA referred to the former Queen singer EDDIE Mercury, Lambert said you mean FREDDY!
The guy had a lost look on his face, didn’t even know that he messed up.
This is why Eddie needs to interview Queen and Adam, those morning show guys are clueless. Anyways I’m going to see them in Houston 7/9.
It is often brutal when mainstream media tries to talk rock…
It’s painful to watch a rock star get interviewed on AM talk shows. The hosts try to be hip but just are not. Kelly Ripa seems to do okay, maybe because she grew up in the 80s. I remember when Regis Philbin called Motley Crue THE Motley Crue.
Though Freddie was and is irreplaceable, it’s really nice to see Lambert with Queen. He is one of the few that I feel can do the songs justice. Paul Rodgers has absolutely earned his respect – Free and Bad Company were great bands – but he just never seemed quite the right fit. George Michael did an amazing job on Somebody To Love for the tribute concert. He’s another singer that could’ve carried the legacy.
Agree. I love Paul Rogers, but that was a bland pairing that was rather uninspiring.
Next they’ll be referring to Freddy Van Halen. Morons…
How about Space Frehley? Or Dickie Sixx? What about Ying Yang Malmsteen?
George Michael would have been amazing on a tour with the three.
I agree Lee.
I never liked him when he was in Wham, but some of his solo stuff is actually pretty good. He is very talented.

….’and I’m never gonna dance again….guiltless feet I’ve got no rhythm….though it’s easy to pretend – I know your not a fool……
Why the fuck do I know that?!!
Child of the ’80s like me? Maybe that is why-LOL!!!

He(George) was originally rumored to take over a year after Freddy’s death but John Deacon nixed that said it was too soon too move on and replace Freddy. I imagine that in part why he never came back. Freddy’s death affected him and how he see’s Queen/Music. May did say he spoke to Deacon about Adam and he approved of what they were doing.
Was one of the job requirements “must be gay”?
Aww, that’s not nice. 🙁 It shouldn’t matter what their sexual preference is when they have the pipes to back it up. Talent is talent.

Dunno Frank. Is one of the requirements to post here ‘must be stupid’?
Frank just had a Howard Stern moment Dana. He simply said what many of us (not me….oh, no….not me….married with kids I am) might have been thinking. Actually, as a librarian….i am all in favor of halting the bastardization of the English language. Stop corrupting words and let their true meaning flourish!! 🙂
Frank, I hope you have a gay weekend

Adam has crazy pipes, Slash said when he performed with him he was blown away at his range and ease of hitting those notes. Roger Taylor said the reason they liked him was his voice and the right amount of humor and campy personality that they like in a front man.
Jim,
I know he does. I am ashamed to admit that I watched his season of American Idol and I thought he was AMAZING. My idol is Rob Halford, so I really appreciate those clear, powerhouse voices as well as the raspy bluesy voice like David Coverdale or Ron Young.
Dana 🙂
Is it irony that you just referenced another incredible gay singer Dana?
Nope, that was done on purpose. Halford rules 🙂
