NOLA.com posted a feature article about Ozzy Osbourne on October 27th. In the piece Osbourne stated that Black Sabbath have decided against recording another album, making 2013’s, 13, their last.
The singer said, “It’s the end of Sabbath, believe me.” He continued, “In December, I’ll be f——‘ 68 and I think it’s time to call it the end of the day. I’m not saying I won’t get on stage with Geezer or Tony (Iommi) or any of them some time, but officially we’re going to be done…I don’t want it to dwindle and dwindle and play just for the sake of making another f——‘ sack full of cash. So it’s time, and then I’ll go back to doing my own thing.”

13 is a nice bookend. I am going to miss Tony, Geezer and Bill.
13 was a nice record to end it. It also works with the thunder from the opening of the debut tacked on the end of the album.
If Sharon tells them to get their asses back in the studio they will make another album.
Well, they did finally score their first #1 album in the US with 13, so that’s a great accomplishment to end their recording career on. The first six Ozzy era studio albums are untouchable. Tony, Geezer, Ozzy and Bill have given us some of the greatest music of all time. Yes, they’re ending Sabbath without Bill, but it can’t be denied how important he was to that band and even they have to acknowledge that.
Top 5
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Black Sabbath
Master of Reality
Vol. 4
Paranoid
Excellent! That’s the same order I’d put those albums in. Sabotage would be #6.
