LIVE NATION ANNOUNCES NEW REFUND POLICY
Live Nation has announced a new “Ticket Relief Plan” to issue refunds to customers who hold tickets to shows that have been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The concert conglomerate, which also owns Ticketmaster, previously indicated that fans who held tickets to rescheduled concerts would be given a 30-day window to request a refund. The new policy now allows ticketholders to shows that have been postponed but not rescheduled to request a refund 60 days after the original date of the concert. (Fans will then have 30 days to request a refund.) Live Nation has also stated that fans whose shows have been canceled will be given the option of exchanging their ticket for a credit worth 150% of the original ticket value.
Prior to Ticketmaster’s announcement, AEG Presents revealed that beginning May 1, their ticketholders will be given a 30-day window to request refunds for rescheduled shows. The move came amidst growing frustration among would-be concertgoers about a lack of enforcement on refund policies; Stubhub was hit with a $5 million class action lawsuit in April.
