KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

i bet HOF is pissed now… they bent over for Paul and Gene demands but still ending up with no performance at all! lol
Eddie who do you took this decision, sounds like Paul doesn’t it?
I agree! If the RnR HOF will not recognize all members, past/present, that help make KISS what it is today then they shouldn’t perform. In a sense, they’re saying all or nothing. I agree!
same, agree totally
Damage control. Ha ha I just saw Foreigner (who have been touring with 1 original member) without any original members. Mick Jones has missed quite a few shows since his heart attack a couple years ago. Quiet Riot is touring without any original members, (sure Frankie was there for their biggest reign, but again not the original drummer.) Gene and Paul will soon get guys in their make-up and KISS will go on without any original members. (Mark my words.) Gene and Paul will pay these guys, a “hired gun’s wage” while sitting back collecting the king’s ransom. I see this statement as Damage Control. G&P heard that the responses to both Ace and Peter’s open letters might be turning the handful of KISS fans still out there away from the money making machine known as KISS and had to put out something to help hold back the tide. It’s a shame that G&P hold the rights to the KISS library and make-up design, because I would love to see A&P go out as a KISS tribute band, getting guys dressed in G&P make-up. Ha ha Hell they should do it anyway in similar make-up but, “the same” and find guys who sing like G&P. They could call themselves, SIKK (In a similar font style.) Ha ha that would be awesome. Anyway… KISS was once really cool. Gene and Paul have done more damage to the brand by dressing Eric and Tommy up like Ace and Peter than Ace and Peter ever did by their past addictions.
I’m not sure on the Ace make-up thing , But from what I seen in the past was Peter gave Eric Singer permission to use his trademark .
Like iv said befor if its not ace an peter .then its not kiss don’t care what u all say!
Good! This puts an end to the huge ego of Gene & control of Paul. It’s sad though that the fans are the ones who will lose out on seeing them perform.
