KISS RELEASE THEIR OWN STATEMENT REGARDING THE RNRHOF INDUCTION, BAND CLAIMS “WE NEVER REFUSED TO PLAY WITH ACE AND PETER”

kiss-return KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:

“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.

Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.

Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.

It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.

We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.

KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.

This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.

To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

  1. I have been a Kiss Fan since 1977. My very first concert when Cheap Trick opened up for y’all. The night when Elvis died . Ya’ll dedicated ” Detroit Rock City ” to him. Anyway smart decision not playing. In other words. Good way to cover your ass,! I feel bad for Chris and Ace that you can’t be the bigger person and let them play. I will NEVER go to another Kiss concert and will take down all of my Kiss fan pages out of respect for Peter and Ace. Who have much more class in then ya’ll have in your pinky finger. 2. Eddie im a big fan of That Metal Show. The more I read the more disgusted I get. My cousin an I planned on getting together and getting tickets to go witness our childhood idols get inducted and play at the RARHOF. Im so glad I listened to the conversation you had with the one and only true spaceman Ace Frehley. I travel anywhere to go see him. I live in New Orleans. My cousin lives in Pennsylvania. We were hoping to winess that but we definately changed our plans thanks to the heads up from Ace and Peter. I hope you never have Gene an paul on your show. They are money hungry whores. They will probably expect you to pay them to be on the show. They are not for there fans like Ace and Peter.

    1. Yes, Brian, this is all about you. Grow up and stop whining like a child. Get your mother on the phone so you can get some attention.

  3. Ludicrous and hypocritical. Paul and Gene are always saying it’s “all about the fans.” Yet…..this decision is nothing but selfish. Fans want to see Ace and Peter, and as a long time fan I can say I also want to see Vinnie, Bruce, Mark……… Heart was able to do a full reunion performance last year as have other bands. This is petty, childish, and in my mind it seriously tarnishes an honor that comes way too late. I’ve been waiting years for their induction, but if they can’t find away to work this out and perform…..I couldn’t care less about watching the ceremony.
