JUDAS PRIEST’S “BATTLE CRY” LIVE CD/DVD/BLU-RAY TO BE RELEASED ON MARCH 25TH

judaspriest640

Judas Priest’s tour in support of their 17th studio album overall, Redeemer of Souls, was one of the most extensive of the group’s entire career – consisting of 130 shows in 33 countries, and offering a setlist that touched upon selections from nearly all of their classic albums. And now, fans can relive the live Priest experience once more, with the release of the new CD/DVD/Blu-ray, Battle Cry, on March 25th, 2016, through Epic Records.

Recorded live on August 1st, 2015 at Germany’s Wacken Festival in front of an audience of 85,000, Battle Cry is available on a 15-track CD, with the entire show on Blu-ray and DVD (running over 94 minutes), as well as digital audio and video formats. The DVD and Blu-ray also contains 3 bonus tracks shot in Poland on December 10th, 2015 at The Ergo Arena, Gdansk, Poland.

What makes the show’s track listing so appealing is it balances new classics (Dragonaut, Halls of Valhalla, Redeemer of Souls) along with headbanging classics (Metal Gods, Electric Eye, You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’), as well as key album tracks from yesteryear (Devil’s Child, Beyond the Realms of Death, Jawbreaker).

How could they leave out love bites!!!

Like KISS, they have soooooooooooo many songs to put on a set list. Clearly I would’ve gone with alot of different songs, but they’re trying to stick alot of classics with some new stuff, which I give them credit for. At least Jawbreaker made it. I’m always amazed they still do Painkiller. Rob’s voice isn’t what it used to be.

Another great live CD/DVD to look forward to! JP, Scorpions, AC/DC should be next! Nothing better than a great live DVD to “Rock The Blues Away!” 😉

Really Sentinel, I mean I get it, I’d rather they put Love Bites on it than Turbo Lover. When I saw them earlier on the tour in 2014 they did Love Bites and I was blown away (as i was with Devils Child and SFV) but maybe they dropped it and did say, The Rage, they didn’t do it (The Rage) when I saw them, but anyway this is a great set list and this #1 Priest fan can’t wait for that mutha to drop. C’mon March 25th!!!

How about Fever? They never do that song, and the bridge, is insane.

      D 🙂

Ah Fever. The greatest ‘ballad’ ever done by a metal band. Nice call. How about Out In The Cold? How about Steeler or Rapid Fire? How about Bloodstone? How about Delivering The Goods? How about Sinner? How about Desert Plains or Solar Angels? The list goes on and on…..

I’ll go way out there…How about Blood Red Skies?

Bloodstone, is by far, one of my all time favorite Priest songs. Ah-mazing!

Fever would be a great one to bring back, the only time I’ve heard it live is a bootleg from ’82, but the one track from SFV that I’d like to see that they also haven’t done as far as I know since ’82 is one of my favorite tracks from it, BLOODSTONE!!!

They do it on the live Screaming For Vengeance show taped from Memphis. That is my favorite live (on tape) concert of all time.

      D 🙂

‘HEY MEMPHIS – HOW YA DOING ALRIGHT?! NICE TO BE BACK WITH YOU ONCE AGAIN!’ I love that ‘vhs cassette’. Still my favorite live recording.
