Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel have brought back original singer Darren James Smith – after four other vocalists had taken his place over five months.
He will front the band for their shows in September, then work on their second album, which is expected in early 2016.
Smith left in March and was replaced by Michael Beck, Chas West then Paul D’Eath, before Shawn Crosby last month said he hoped he’d become a permanent fixture.
Now the band say, “We would officially like to welcome Darren James Smith back to Red Dragon Cartel! He will be reuniting with the band for shows on September 6th and 10th in California, followed by a tour of Japan that begins on September 15th.
The band will be taking the rest of 2015 off from touring to hit the studio and start recording. The highly-anticipated second album from Jake and RDC will be ready for release in the first few months of 2016.”

It sounds like Jake needs to take a little time and figure out what he really wants to do. What a strange trip.
Jake really needs to get his sh*t together. I have always loved his music, but the way this band has been managed the past year or so is embarrassing. No one is going to take him seriously. I get that few people can afford to do small, short club tours to half-filled clubs. But…man… He needs to settle on ONE singer.
But, I’m glad to hear they’re working on another album. Hopefully, that will turn things around.
Thank goodness. Because as I’ve always said, if Darren James whatshisname isn’t in the band, it really isn’t Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel. Maybe Jake should start Jake E Lee’s RATT Tribute Band! Just don’t use the logo Jake.
Now that’s funny…
I came here to to take a brief respite from all ratt references. I did not do the ratt thing.
I see what you did there.
