Iron maiden is a fantastic amazing band , but priest should have already been in , it’s just plain wrong for maiden to get in before priest …

      Thank you, Robert.

Not to put too fine a line on things, but none have these people have been inducted yet. These are only the nominees. There’s no guarantee that Iron Maiden is getting in (before Judas Priest), so they’re not necessarily going to get in before Judas Priest.

Personally, I think it’s a travesty that Carole King hasn’t been inducted already. Not only did she make Tapestry (one of the greatest pop albums of all time), but she’s written some of the greatest classic pop songs for countless other artists.

Not necessarily, Guns N’Roses (eye roll) made it in before Priest, so it’s anyone’s guess.

Hey, even Lars Ulrich lambasted the Hall of Shame when Metallica got inducted before Ulrich’s heroes, Deep Purple. Then, wouldn’t ya know? Deep Purple gets in after he made his comment, just pathetic.

I believe in the suggestion that the name should be changed to Music HOF. The name RnR HOF does not accurately represent the decisions being made. That being said, the RnR HOF is a glorified privately created club. There is no tangible product of RnR. There’s no clear-cut definition or requirement of what it takes to be a member and since it’s a made-up private organization – and I use the term organization loosely – there doesn’t need to have any documented requirements to be a member. Anyone (maybe us?) can start another club and elect whomever we deem qualified and call it whatever we want. The more we bitch about their decisions the more importance we give it. It really isn’t important at all. It’s like a bunch of kids build a fort in the woods and hang a sign on the door that says “You’re not allowed in without our permission”. We have to ask ourselves…Do we care?

Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Barry Manilow should all be in, that’s right, Barry Manilow! No of course he isn’t Rock and Roll, but neither is half of the other so-called “artists” who are already in! I like the Foo Fighters and have no problem with them being nominated, but it’s not their turn, or time to go in, not yet. Won’t even waste my time on RATM, garbage!

REO Speedwagon should be in as well. Anybody who thinks they’re too soft and all about the “ballads” never listened to them in the 70’s.

i been telling dana every yr about manilow……..besides his songs.. did you watch american bandstand when kiss was on? bon jovi? slade? junkyard dog and jane wiedlin? , he did the theme song……. jingles for mcdonals (you deserve a break…) and band-aids (i am stuck……) thats him too……….. hit songs, plus influence.. 2 major criteria that they want … ……joan jett before benatar i dont get…just about every jett song you heard on a radio was a remake..benatar all originals (or at least 99%)

      Barry Manilow rules.

First off Maiden in before Priest never in a million years. Hell, Metallica should have never gone in before Motorhead.

Good to see the GoGos nominated but doesn’t mean they’re in.

Besides the whole thing is they nominate Jay-Z, and he’s probably getting in the Hall. Dickinson says they are a mausoleum with no clue of what rock is. Tod Rudgreon said it so well recently. What should happen is just stop talking about this clueless institution and just let it die.
