*UPDATE* GENE SIMMONS SAYS “ACE AND PETER WILL NOT PERFORM WITH KISS AT THE ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME,” VIDEO POSTED ONLINE
According to Ultimate Guitar, KISS frontman Gene Simmons told Radio.com that if the band is inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame, they will not be re-uniting with original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.
Simmons stated, “No. How many chances in life do you get? When you stick your hand in fire, you get burned the first time. Fire and nature doesn’t care if you’re a good guy or a bad guy. Both of those guys had three chances to be in the band. Three times they f–ked it up. They were every bit as important as we were at the formation of the band and they would have been the ruin of the band if they had continued to be in the band. When you have a cancer in your system, it’s best to cut it out as fast as you can. It used to be a part of your body; it turned into cancer. You gotta cut it out.”
Simmons also added that he believes his former bandmates are much happier not being in the band, “I believe that both Ace and Peter are happier now. They’re healthier, they both look fine. When they were in the band, they were both on junk, or crack or alcohol. Clearly not a healthy place for them. They belong home doing autograph shows in clubs. They’re happier.”

This is just a nail in the coffin for me. i am done being a kiss fan. done. Over the last few years, gene and even to an extent paul’s actions and statements have just soured it all. Even listening to the music leaves a sour taste in my mouth. i think it is sad that it is all business and not about fans, music, loyalty. You can’t put it aside for ONE night to give credit where credit is due. give ace and peter their due. disgusting. just done. I always say that the biggest FU would be if Ace Frehley was inducted solo into the RRHOF before Kiss. then watch gene’s attitude change. lol
This board just proves what a PR master Gene is, he’s knows how to demand attention, good or bad. At this point he just says controversial stuff so he can sell more books, cruises and football. And the 40th anniversary tour can’t be far behind. I don’t even think Gene believes half of the stuff he spews forth, he just knows how to stay in the headlines, which = $.
Who spews more crap, Gene Simmons or Donald Trump? They appear to be of the same ilk.
Maybe Hall and Oates could masquerade as Ace and Peter and they could do a medley of RICH GIRL/GOING BLIND/OUT OF TOUCH/AND THEN SHE KISSED ME….I want the last comment so bad. I feel I did an admirable job being a pro-Gene/ Paul guy. Those 2 have kept it going all these years and I’m glad. About 25 years ago I got SMASHES, THRASHES AND HITS for Christmas on CD. That was the perfect intro to this great band. Then they got back together 9 years later and everything after is gravy. Anyone else remember Ace on MORTON DOWNEY JR SHOW. Great guitarist and a funny guy with a great laugh.
