I’m getting rid of my KISS collection. This is bullshit.
This turn of events wasn’t really a shock to me & not because I know anyone but Paul’s writing on the wall remarks were clear that this wasn’t going to happen someone else’s way. Paul felt that KISS as a collective should be inducted & not just the original 4. And to a certain degree,, as much as I felt he might be wrong, the other part of me knew he could be right. KISS members such as Eric Carr & Mark St. John come to mind as members who brought a different game into play & moved the band forward as well. The KISS story has been a tale of total confusion, addiction, debauchery, egos, half truths & more with a cast of characters that would never have made who they are without the drive, desire, & fortitude to shake up the norm and do it for the sake of something bigger than them. From magnificent triumphs to the most horrendous failures, they have seen & done it all with dignity. pride, & disgrace which continues on today. God bless Gene, Paul, Peter & Ace, I still believe this was the best incarnation but that was a different place and time, that place is not 2013. God bless Vinnie, Mark, Bruce’ Eric & Eric as well, long KISS will live through the generations.
That was incredibly well said Mr. Rowedda.
See Ed, I told you Gene & Paul would do that. Just like the VH 1 Rock Honors.
I recall throughout the ages, Gene and Paul always saying they work for us (the fans) and that we’d let you know when your time was up. If the remarks on this site are any indication to what’s happening throughout world right now in the minds of real Kiss fans, I’m not sorry to say at this point that you are officially fired!
What exactly is a REAL KISS fan? I am 40, a fan since I was 5. Have all the albums, posters etc. Been to many shows. My favorite band of all time. I have no issues with this move, in fact I think Ace and Peter are musically…a joke! And if they wanted to be taken seriously maybe they should have put the band 1st all those years instead of becoming a stereotypical “rock star” and frying their brains and neglecting the band and its fans for that matter. You and others on here cry that Paul and Gene are doing wrong by the “real fans”. Well as a real fan you should all be pretty pissed that KISS had to be Paul, Gene and studio musicians for most of their careers because your boys Ace and Peter were too busy partying, not showing up, or being unable to grow as musicians. IN FACT…if you think about it, you are banging a drum for 2 guys who maybe actually played on 5 or 6 albums, but hey they were original members so I guess I am wrong, I wish I was a real fan too.
Gene and Paul need to THINK HARD about what they are doing to “the people” that have been there from day one. Mr. Simmons once quoted, “Without the fans, we are nothing”. And Mr. Stanley has always claimed that we where his “people”. The Kiss Army (the fans), asks that you RETHINK about letting Ace and Peter to accept this award with their founding brothers. One night WONT KILL YOU. And if you don’t change your minds?…Well, I can hear those booos getting really loud.
you seem a bit misguided, they said they will not perform with Ace and Peter. They did not say they would not be on stage with them to accept the award. They also have said many times in the past few weeks that Ace and Peter deserve the credit for helping make the band.
