DRUMMER PETER CRISS JOINS ROB ZOMBIE ONSTAGE FOR A PERFORMANCE OF KISS’ “GOD OF THUNDER”

peterCriss400 Original KISS drummer Peter Criss joined frontman Rob Zombie on stage last night (Saturday, May 10th) at 93.3 WMMR MMR*B*Q 2014 at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey to perform a cover of the KISS classic God Of Thunder.

According to blabbermouth.net, Zombie introduced Criss by telling the audience: “Ladies and gentlemen, if you are anything like me, you were very disappointed a little while ago, because I tuned into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and I did not get to see my favorite drummer get behind the motherfucking drums. So tonight, it is our great honor to bring to you the one and only Catman, Mr. Peter Criss.” Watch fan filmed footage below.

Rob Zombie has just completed a short 12-stop tour and will next head over to Europe for a run of festival dates beginning with the Sweden Rock Festival on June 5th.

Zombie is promoting the upcoming release of his first-ever concert Blu-ray/DVD, The Zombie Horror Picture Show, which will be released on May 19th.

  1. Great to see Peter Criss playing again, whether it’s on his own or with another drummer.

Since KISS didn’t do the reunion performance at the HoF and we know Ace would have jammed with Tom Morello to AC/DC’s Highway To Hell but didn’t happen due to Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band hogging the time, this is what Peter would have done if he performed at the HoF.

I guess it’s a way of Peter making it up for not having the KISS reunion performance at the HoF. He still has it. Now, I’m just wondering about the rock album he was working with John5.

  2. The Cat Man still has it?? I don’t know what some of you people are smoking in your pipe but most people on this forum seem smart enough to figure out that Peter sounds awful. The reason Rob Z has a drummer backing up Peter is to cover his ass. That is truly sad when you can’t make a live cameo appearance with out another drummer holding you up. This guy is a feeble senior citizen who I feel sorry for. He should stay out of the public eye. It validates everything Paul and Gene have said about his current abilities. I want to remember Peter the way he was…not the way he is now.

    1. The reason Ginger Fish is there is because HE’S THE DRUMMER IN ZOMBIE’S BAND! You people are ridiculouis with this Peter bashing.

    2. i agree, anyone who keeps bashing Peter needs to go away.

Ginger is RZ’s drummer- Peter’s drums weren’t loud, but he doesn’t have the hard hitting ability anymore with arthritis and bad wrists- Ginger was NOT there to ‘cover his ass’. Ginger was there because he is the band’s drummer. Oy.

    3. Your always calling people bully’s when you don’t agree with there comments. Suck it up butter cup, grow a thicker skin..

    4. Billy – it really makes no sense to bash Peter’s ability. He’s in his 60’s and has tendonitis. They’ve all lost a step or two at this age. Did you hear Paul’s voice on the last tour? A fraction of what it used to be. They’re getting old, but are still doing what they love. Paul and Gene have Kiss, Ace has his solo career and Peter is pretty much retired. If Zombie wants to get him up there and Peter agrees, more power to him. But he is retired. Peter at 50% is still better any of those criticizing him.

    5. Billy; just because someone gets old doesn’t mean they are less talented!
look at some old videos of Buddy Rich playing, he could do stuff with a single bass drum that double bass drummers couldn’t.

    1. And you know this because Paul & Gene say so, right? Because you were playing jazz with him in a band? IDIOTS

    2. Do you know e black? Peter hasn’t put anything out worth listening to in almost 35 years…

    3. The last thing I liked by Peter was the song “I finally found my way” on Psycho Circus–and, uh–Paul wrote it. Oops! However, I love Peter so I am not knocking him. Just being honest. It was great to see him with Rob Zombie, I just think Rob should keep out of the political crap and stay neutral. I don’t think he’s so popular that he can afford to offend potential fans by knocking the current lineup (“one and only Catman”, etc,…). Eric Singer is awesome as the Catman. Maybe we should call him a Lion because his playing demonstrates something more powerful than a Cat. If Peter was the Cat, then Eric is something more and takes it to the next level–or several levels higher.

  3. Bravo, Catman! That was a breathtaking performance!

The only reason I can think of as to why Peter Criss isn’t selling out stadiums and hasn’t had tons of hit songs (did you know he won a People’s Choice Award in 1977?) is because Paul and Gene keep sabotaging his career…and too many people just don’t recognize legendary talent when it’s right in front of them. After all, who among us on this message board doesn’t own the entire Peter Criss solo discography?…

Eric Singer should watch Peter’s drum fill at 4:06 and learn from the master. Peter’s so scary good, that he even stops playing at the end of it to catch his breath….I sure hope he goes on tour so I can see him when he plays at the bar in my neighborhood…

    1. Sadly, the only thing funnier than my snarky comment is Peter’s “drumming.”

I am SO glad Paul Stanley didn’t allow a KISS reunion set onstage at the RRHoF. Between Paul’s hit-or-miss vocals, Peter’s inability to play drums, and I’m-Obese-And-Take-Up-A-Lot-Of-Space Ace, the three-song set that everyone on this message board is still crying about, would’ve been an embarrassment. It also would’ve been a “we told you they suck” moment for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame board members.

    2. Dude, the guys 67, he is a fucking legend. And i’m sure you would be at that bar saying to him ” oh Mr. Criss i am a huge kiss fan, and you are my idol and fuck Paul and Gene, i am on your side” Because all you Gene and Paul supporters are so two faced. I love Pete, Ace, Paul, Gene, and all the other guys they dress up as Ace and Peter. Cant believe you ragged on a 67 year old drumming legend? Even if Eric plays better?

  4. OK, I love the original KISS too but this just validated everything I just read in Paul Stanley’s book about Peter’s current ability or inability to play drums. Pretty sad. If you’re going to come out and do a guest appearance why would you have another drummer backing you up? Shame on Rob Zombie. To me, it’s almost as though Rob set Peter up to look stupid. I don’t think that was his intention but that’s how it comes across to me. Peter and Ace were great during the early KISS years but let’s not kid ourselves about their musical abilities today. Let’s move on.

    1. What the hell, people? This was a last minute guest spot not part of the tour. Like Rob is going to deny Ginger the chance to play? WTF? Phil Collins played with another drummer regularly, does this mean he sucks. GROW UP

    2. Have u heard pauls vocals? Lol….I think its time for him to move on…

    3. You can hide behind the fact paul had surgery if u want…and its prob safe to assume he came back too soon from it…but paul barely moves around anymore..he doesnt really command the stage anymore either…plus u throw in the same old stage rants night after night…hes become boring to watch…and if u listen to one interview, u heard them all…but that comes with a long career, eventually u reach the end…

    4. Peter’s 5 years older than Paul.
Peter Criss Broke both his wrists in the late 70’s and had tendinitis and carpal tunnel in his hands, wrists, and elbows since the mid 70’s.
Drumming is also a Lot harder on your arms, wrists, elbows hands ,legs, ankles, feet and knees than playing guitar!
Plus it’s a Bitch to sit and sing too!
