4/2: RADIO RECAP, JERICHO, UDO, TMS, MORE

Had a great SiriusXM show last night with live interviews with Jesse from Jackyl and Steve from Kix. Both artists will be at M3 this year. See you there, should be a blast as always. More free tickets to M3 on my FM shows.

Thanks to David Coverdale for the surprise call in this past Friday on the FM show. DC talked about the upcoming live Whitesnake touring and DVDs/CDs. He revealed that after this run the extensive touring for his band will start to slow a bit. He also noted he reconnected with Richie Blackmore for the first time in ages and had a great talk with him. David seems to be in a great place right now and in great spirits. Always good to have him on. Also check out Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich’s band Burning Rain who are about to release new music and just issued a new video. Also spoke with Robin Zander of Cheap Trick in this past Friday’s show. Budokan is 35 years old and special stuff will be announced soon. Robin is doing some solo shows including this Thursday at BBs in NYC. Honor to have these two legendary singers on the show. You can hear this show again this weekend on all affiliate stations and online outlets as usual and On Demand for site members.

Also thanks to Michael Sweet for coming by toward the end of the show. New Stryper album out now called Second Coming. Live again this Monday with Jesse James DuPree and more TBA. Please note, I have NO CONTROL over my show being On Demand or replaying on SiriusXM. I would contact them for info, I have asked. Thanks.

About a month away from filming the new TMS episodes in LA. The ticket info should be released any day. I will post here and on my Twitter. The episodes are about 50% booked. Once all slots filled I will announce the new seasons guests. Guests are booked based on if they are available when we shoot (many on tour) and if they want to do the show. We ask! If there is a major act you want on TELL THEM, all we can do is ask. Let them hear from YOU the fans! We have new features coming and the guests will be a mix of new and classic artists and first time and returning guests. The shows will start to air early June on VH1 Classic. A special hello and thanks to TMS viewers outside the USA. I know season 9 just started in S America and other markets. I am hoping to find a way to come and visit some of these other countries that have rabid TMS fans soon.

For those asking I will once again be special guest host at M3 this year. I’ll be heading to Maryland direct from LA right after we tape the new TMS shows. Hope to see you all out there again. Free tix being given away on my radio shows.

Also will once again be hosting this years Rocklahoma. Huge lineup and this should be one of the biggest years yet. Honored to have hosted this great event every year and look forward to seeing you in Pryor OK Memorial Weekend.

3/21: BACK FROM CRUISE, NICKO, SNAKE, REX BROWN, MORE

Back from the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. What a blast! 45 bands, 4 days! Thanks to all the bands, fans and crew. WAY too many stores to tell here, but I will on the radio this weekend. Still very much recovering! Also want to thank the MANY fans I met on the ship from Brazil who tell me how big TMS is there. I appreciate all our viewers from outside the US and if there is an opportunity that makes sense to visit your country I hope to soon. For those that don’t get the show outside the US it is out of my control, but I have heard from some they know ways to see it… Metal fans are resourceful, awesome!

Hung with Nicko McBrain at his ribs restaurant in Coral Springs FL last week. Great time and Nicko is hands on. Really good food and thanks to Nicko for the hospitality. If in the area check out Rock n Roll Ribs.

Back live this Friday on Q104.3 show with a live interview with Rex Brown and the premiere of new music from Deep Purple and Black Star Riders (Thin Lizzy). Also M3 tickets. Listen live 11P-2A ET on 104.3 FM in NYC area or online via the free stream at www.q1043.com or with free iheartradio app. Be sure to enter to win the Rex bass on the home page.

Back live this Monday on SiriusXM channel 39 Trunk Nation (Hair Nation). Snake from Skid Row guest co-hosts and I will world premiere brand new Skid Row. Plus tons of calls. Always fun with my old pal Snake so don’t miss it. We will cover everything as well as all the stories from the MOR cruise.

New TMS starts shooting in a month in LA. Ticket and guest info to come. Working daily with VH1 on the next chapter of the show’s history which will include new features, set and more! Again, VH1 has final approval on ALL GUESTS who appear. ALL major guests are approached. Appreciate all the requests but it is a process and we do what we can based on who is available when we tape. Ozzy and Kiss will not do the show, so tell them not us if you want to see them on it. Everything else is just timing and availability. Appreciate all the support. New shows start airing early June!

Same with when audience tix are released and available. I appreciate all the guest requests but once again the show is booked based off of who the NETWORK approves, and who is available and wants to do the show in the windows we tape. As usual rock and metal artists will be represented and we will me mixing in new bands with the classics ones as well. All details TBA but the new shows will start airing early June. In the meantime enjoy the many repeats of nearly 100 episodes now running on VH1C.

Very sad to hear of the passing of original Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr. CLive was ill for a long time battling MS. Credit the Maiden camp for always trying to help him and doing benefits for him through his struggles. I saw Maiden with Clive twice. First time I saw Maiden was opening for Priest in NJ at Convention Hall in Asbury Pk on the Killers tour. Then I saw them headline at The Palladium in NYC on the Beast tour. Clive’s role in the early days of Maiden can not be understated. Great player and fun to watch too. Killers and Beast are two of my top 5 Maiden albums, so he will always live on with us through this brilliant music. Condolences to his fans, friends and family. I’ll do a musical remembrance when back on the radio live since this weeks shows are pre recorded. RIP Clive Burr.

Off to Florida tomorrow. Honored to be special guest host once again for the second annual Monsters Of Rock Cruise. This year it’s 4 nights of Mayhem with a TON of bands! It’s also sold out. So hope you have your tix and yes I have my Passport this year (forgot it last year)! Look forward to hanging with all. The cruise runs from Saturday till Wed 3/20. Since there is no cell or internet service i’ll update you when I can and have signal.

I will once again be hosting M3 in Maryland and Rocklahoma in Pryor OK. Hope to see you at those shows too. More info soon. Be sure to follow on Twitter @EddieTrunk for up to the second news. More here when I return from the high seas!
