JOHN 5 TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “THIS IS MY RIFLE” ON JUNE 17TH

John 5 announces the release of his new single This Is My Rifle, from his upcoming album Careful With That Axe through 60 Cycle Hum. This Is My Rifle will be available digitally on June 17th everywhere digital music is available.

With rapid-fire, machine-gun riffs, anthemic sweeps and John 5’s blistering fast six string assaults, This Is My Rifle is the first single from John 5’s new album and features Rodger Carter on drums and Matt Bissonette on bass.

Additional information on Careful With That Axe will follow in the coming weeks.

John 5 hits the road with Rob Zombie this June in support of Rob Zombie’s 2013 release Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe). Rob Zombie’s first concert film The Zombie Horror Picture Show (Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe) DVD, featuring John 5, was released May 19 on Blu-ray, DVD and longform digital video.

GOSSIP SITE REPORTING THAT GUNS N’ ROSES IS CALLING IT QUITS AS FRONTMAN AXL ROSE CONSIDERS RETIRING

Gossip website Radar Online reports:

Legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses are set to split, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The band, who first formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, will call it a day after their Las Vegas residency wraps up June 7th.

“Band members have been told their calendars are free following Vegas,” a source close to the band tells RadarOnline. “Axl (Rose) is considering retiring and it’s done. Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work.”

Front man Rose, 52, is the only remaining member of the original band with lead guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Steven Adler and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin having all left the band over the years.

“Axl has made enough money and wants to stop touring,” adds another source. “He is considering retiring.”

Along with Rose the current members are bass player Tommy Stinson, Dizzy Read on keyboards and percussion, lead guitarist DJ Ashba, Frank Ferrer on drums, Chris Pitman on keyboards and rhythm guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal.

The band begin their residency May 21st playing nine dates at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Guns N’ Roses are one of the world’s best selling bands of all time having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

LED ZEPPELIN LISTENING EVENT STREAMING FROM PARIS, MAY 21ST, WITH SPECIAL GUEST JIMMY PAGE

Jimmy Page will be on hand as a special guest at L’Olympia in Paris on Wednesday, May 21st to premiere unreleased companion audio for the upcoming deluxe editions of the first three Led Zeppelin albums. The event begins at 2:30PM ET and will be streamed live at this link.

L’Olympia first hosted Led Zeppelin for a live concert on October 10th, 1969, which is featured as the companion audio on the upcoming Deluxe Edition of the band’s debut album.

John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Page and Robert Plant came together in 1968 as Led Zeppelin. Over the next decade, the band would become one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups in modern music, selling more than 300 million albums worldwide. Their songs are some of the most celebrated in rock ‘n’ roll history that, to this day, resonate with fans young and old around the globe. Still, no matter how many times you may have listened to their music, you’ve never heard Led Zeppelin like this before.

With the June 3rd release of deluxe editions of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III, the band will launch an extensive reissue program of all nine of its studio albums in chronological order, each remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page. Led Zeppelin will also open its vaults to share dozens of unheard studio and live recordings, with each album featuring a second disc of companion audio comprised entirely of unreleased music related to that album.

Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III will each be available June 3rd from Atlantic/Swan Song in the following formats:

• Single CD – Remastered album packaged in a gatefold card wallet.
• Deluxe Edition (2CD) – Remastered album, plus a second disc of unreleased companion audio.
• Single LP – Remastered album on 180-gram vinyl, packaged in a sleeve that replicates the LP’s first pressing in exacting detail. (For example, III will feature the original wheel and die cut holes.)

JUDAS PRIEST TO HEADLINE THE FUN, FUN, FUN FEST IN AUSTIN, TEXAS IN THE FALL

The 9th annual Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin line-up was announced May 20th and heavy metal legends Judas Priest will be one of the headliners. The festival is scheduled for November 7th-9th at Auditorium Shores and Butler Park.

This will be the Rob Halford-led band’s first time in the Texas capital in 25 years and will follow the release of their new studio album Redeemer of Souls, out July 8th on Epic Records.

Lineups for two additional stages — for comedy and sports — will be announced later. Tickets go on sale today, May 20th, at funfunfunfest.com.

“SUPER DUPER ALICE COOPER” OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY JUNE 3RD

Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce the DVD, Blu-ray and Deluxe Limited Edition Boxed set release of the critically acclaimed Banger Films documentary Super Duper Alice Cooper on June 3rd [MSRP $14.98 DVD, $19.98 Blu-ray, $69.98 Deluxe Edition].

Premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this past April, Super Duper Alice Cooper is the first ever “doc opera” film, presented with a dizzying blend of documentary archive footage, animation, and rock opera. The film was also screened in theaters nationally in late April.

Super Duper Alice Cooper is the story of Vincent Furnier, a preacher’s son who struck fear into the hearts of parents everywhere as the ultimate rock star of the bizarre, Alice Cooper. Yet beyond the make-up, there is a richer, deeper story. Presented here is the twisted tale of a teenage Dr. Jekyll whose Rock N’ Roll Mr. Hyde almost kills him.

Through the advent of Alice as front man of a rock band group of Phoenix misfits in the 60s, to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the 70s, to his triumphant comeback as 80s glam metal godfather, the film reveals how Alice and Vincent battled for each other’s souls, and how these two opposite characters came to co-exist within one mind. Alice’s story is told not only by the man himself, but through exclusive interviews with members of the original Alice Cooper band, Elton John, Iggy Pop, John Lydon, and Dee Snider.

The DVD and Blu-ray version of Super Duper Alice Cooper includes bonus deleted scenes, Alice Cooper interviews from the VH1 Classic series Metal Evolution, and additional rare footage. The Deluxe Edition features not only the full film on DVD and Blu-ray, but also a second DVD of previously unreleased concert footage from Montreal University in 1972, and a CD of Cooper’s performance at the 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival, all housed in an LP-sized box with 60-page hardback photobook.

Super Duper Alice Cooper is the creation of Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn of Banger Films, producers of Iron Maiden: Flight 666 (2009 SXSW Audience Choice Winner) and Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage (2010 Grammy-nominated and Tribeca Audience Choice Winner), and much-lauded filmmaker Reginald Harkema (winner of the TIFF Special Jury Prize for his film Monkey Warfare).

JUDAS PRIEST POST “MARCH OF THE DAMNED” IN ITS ENTIRETY ONLINE

Judas Priest have decided that March Of The Damned will be the lead-off single from their forthcoming studio album Redeemer Of Souls.

On Monday, May 19th, the official lead-off single from the album, March Of The Damned, will be released to rock and metal radio, and will be available for purchase via all digital sales providers. Additionally, on the same day, preorders for the full album will be made available through iTunes.

As the band themselves said about March Of The Damned, “Our passion for heavy metal has never diminished, and this track sounds off with real conviction!”

Redeemer Of Souls will be made available from Epic Records on Tuesday, July 8th as both a standard version and a deluxe edition with five bonus tracks.
