BUCKCHERRY VOCALIST JOSH TODD SAYS THEIR “FUCK” EP WAS INSPIRED BY THE FILM “SCARFACE”

buckcherryfyou640 Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd has defended the band’s upcoming Fuck EP, saying: “it’s not just some silly rock record.”

The six-track record’s controversial title was inspired by the movie Scarface, according to Todd, who adds that while it was fun to make, they didn’t set out to offend people.

He tells Yahoo Music, “It’s not just some silly rock record. We put a lot of thought into it and the songs definitely have a lot of dynamics. We set out to make a great product and just have fun with it.

It’s not about offending anybody as much as celebrating the word. There are so many ways to use the word. We wanted to capture that on an EP and not hold back or censor anything.

We’re big fans of the movie Scarface and I remember for a long time the movie had the most fucks of any film and I thought that was so rad.”

Each of the EP’s tracks features the f-word. Included is a cover of Icona Pop’s hit I Love It, renamed as Say Fuck It.

The Fuck EP is released on August 18th.

Fuck EP tracklist:

Somebody Fucked With Me
Say Fuck It
Motherfucker
I Don’t Give A Fuck
It’s A Fucking Disaster
Fist Fuck

KISS FRONTMAN GENE SIMMONS APOLOGIZES FOR HIS RECENT COMMENTS ABOUT DEPRESSION

Gene-Simmons400 KISS bassist Gene Simmons who recently made some controversial comments about depression and suicide, has posted the following message on his Facebook page:

“I want to make this statement about my views on depression for the record and to clarify my prior remarks.

To the extent my comments reported by the media speak of depression, I was wrong and in the spur of the moment made remarks that in hindsight were made without regard for those who truly suffer the struggles of depression. I sincerely apologize to those who were offended by my comments. I recognize that depression is very serious and very sad when it happens to anyone, especially loved ones. I deeply support and am empathetic to anyone suffering from any disease, especially depression.

I have never sugarcoated my feelings regarding drug use and alcoholics. Somewhere along the line, my intention of speaking in very directly and perhaps politically incorrectly about drug use and alcoholics has been misconstrued as vile commentary on depression. Unkind statements about depression was certainly never my intention. Fully, you will know that and I do not intend to defend myself here and now, by listing the myriad charities and self-help organizations I am involved with. Rather, I simply want to be clear that my heart goes out to anyone suffering from depression and I deeply regret any offhand remarks in the heat of an interview that might have suggested otherwise.”

Simmons has received criticism for his comments from Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, who described the KISS frontman’s statements as “moronic”.

SLASH JOINS FORCES WITH UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD FOR “HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS” NEW 3D MAZE LAUNCHING SEPTEMBER 19TH

Slashtophat400 Celebrated Grammy® Award-winning musician, Slash, hailed as one of the 10 best electric guitar players of all time by Time magazine, is joining forces with Universal Studios Hollywood to compose an original score for the theme park’s hypnotizing new 3D maze, Clowns 3D Music by SLASH at Halloween Horror Nights beginning September 19th.

While partnering with top recording artists has become a signature of Halloween Horror Nights, this collaboration with prolific guitarist, SLASH, marks the first time a musician has created an original maze score for the popular event. This inspired effort comes at a demanding time for Slash, whose new album World On Fire debuts on September 16th on the heels of his Let Rock Rule World Tour performing with Aerosmith.

Infused with the rocker’s hell-raising electric guitar riffs, the ominous new “Clowns 3D Music by SLASH” haunted attraction is no laughing matter as it unmasks the psychological disorder known as Coulrophobia, a disturbing condition affecting those with an extreme and irrational fear of clowns.

The psychedelic 3D maze will horrify guests, taunting and tempting them with terror and treats as they parade through “Sweet Licks Frozen Clown Pops Family Amusement Center,” a dilapidated roadside attraction and one-time thriving ice cream factory run by deranged siblings and their mad clown father, Sweet Licks. As this demented trio schemes to restore the family business by luring visitors with free ice cream, guests will soon find themselves on the menu as the key ingredient of a sick new high-protein ice cream concoction.

“I’m a HUGE fan of Halloween Horror Nights and was inspired to partner with Universal Studios Hollywood because they are the founders of creating extreme horror,” said Slash. “I’ve been composing music for as long as I can remember and jumped at the chance to be an integral part of this year’s event and create the original score for this creepy clown maze. I can’t wait to see the fans’ reactions and will be first in line to experience the maze myself.”

“It’s an honor to collaborate with one of the most iconic rock legends around,” said John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights. “From the moment I heard Slash’s original composition for the maze, I immediately knew he got it, as the vibe and feel of his score are so right on. He captured the exact tone we were looking to convey to our guests, and it’s great having Slash be a part of this incredible event.”

Halloween Horror Nights 2014 at Universal Studios Hollywood will be “more dead than ever,” as it brings together the sickest minds in horror to immerse guests in the living, breathing, three-dimensional world of the most notorious and terrifying creatures in existence. This year’s event will feature a slate of all-new unrivaled film production quality mazes, terror-filled scare zones and a fully re-imagined “Terror Tram” experience, uniquely themed to today’s most definitive horror properties, including, The Walking Dead: The End of the Line, based on AMC’s critically-acclaimed, Golden Globe®-nominated and Emmy® Award-winning television series; From Dusk Till Dawn, inspired by Robert Rodriguez’s cult film and El Rey network’s TV series; Dracula Untold: Reign of Blood, based on Universal Pictures’ upcoming epic action-adventure; AVP: Alien vs. Predator, based on the Twentieth Century Fox film franchise; An American Werewolf in London, based Universal Pictures’ Academy Award®-winning and genre-defining film, written and directed by John Landis; Face Off: In the Flesh, based on Syfy’s hit TV series, and The Purge: Anarchy, a new scare zone inspired by Universal Pictures’ blockbuster thriller.

RED ZONE RIDER, AKA RZR, FEATURING VINNIE MOORE, KELLY KEELING AND SCOT COGAN, TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM SEPTEMBER 16TH

VinnieMoore400 The debut, self-titled album by Red Zone Rider (RZR) will be officially released by Magna Carta on September 16th.

Consisting of world class guitar hero, Vinnie Moore; vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Kelly Keeling; and drummer, Scot Coogan, RZR plays rock’n’roll infected by a heavy blues-oriented backdrop. Played by the newly emerging AOR radio of the early 1970’s which featured bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Mountain, Grand Funk, the sound of this era is heard throughout RZR’s album. Dripping with attitude and swagger, two of the chief components of music from this time period, Red Zone Rider sounds like they could easily have been recording in London in 1972 with Eddie Kramer at the board. Instead, RZR recorded the new album a year ago in Las Vegas with Mike Varney producing. In either scenario, Vinnie, Kelly and Scot have made an album that will span decades. Red Zone Rider is one of the finest musical combinations to have come forth in a long, long time.

*UPDATE* NIKKI SIXX SLAMS GENE SIMMONS’ COMMENTS ABOUT PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM DEPRESSION, AUSTRALIAN RADIO NETWORK BLOCKS PLAYING KISS

NikkiSixx400 Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has commented on KISS’ bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons suggesting that people who suffer from depression should kill themselves.

According to blabbermouth.net, Sixx said that people who are suffering from depression should not “listen to people who don’t know what they’re talking about.”

During last night’s episode of his Sixx Sense With Nikki Sixx radio show, Sixx said, “It’s pretty moronic [of Gene to say what he said], because he thinks everybody listens to him, that he is the god of thunder and he will tell you he is the greatest man on earth. And, to be honest with you, I like Gene. But in this situation, I don’t like Gene. I don’t like Gene’s words, because … there is a 20-year-old kid out there who is a KISS fan and reads this and goes, ‘You know what? He’s right. I should just kill myself.’ If I had killed myself, my four beautiful children would not be here today. I wanted to talk about what I’ve done with my recovery and my depression and something I think Gene should use as a model.

I got off the drugs and alcohol and it was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I didn’t think I could ever be off the heroin, to be honest with you. I got off the heroin and I couldn’t leave my house. I didn’t have any social skills, I didn’t know how to interact with people. I pretty much started to go deeper and deeper and deeper into a depression. So I went to a therapist. And it was the first time I had ever been to a therapist. And I said, ‘I just feel hopeless.’ Now, if I went to see Gene Simmons, he would have said, ‘Well, you know, Nikki, if you’re depressed, you should just kill yourself.’ But this therapist said, ‘Hey, there are ways out.’ And he gave me an experimental drug at the time called Prozac, and it got me on the right path. And then I got off of it. And I got out of my depression. And I then went to have these four beautiful children, I wrote the Dr. Feelgood album, I’ve had a wonderful life. I did not take that way out.

And what I’m saying is: for people who are depressed, there is a way out. There are many, many ways out. And I don’t want people to listen to an interview from a rock star who’s telling you the only way out is out, when I’m telling you, and I wrote it in [my book] The Heroin Diaries, you can get out of this…

One in 10 Americans are affected by depression at one point in their life, so this is another thing to think about. At one point in your life, meaning it will come and it will go…

They say all bad things must pass, all bad things will pass. So keep that in the back of your mind if you’re feeling depression, and don’t listen to people who don’t know what they’re talking about.”

In related news, Triple M’s Network head, Mike Fitzpatrick has just pulled all KISS tracks from playlists around Australia. In a statement on the Triple M web-site Fitzpatrick says “Gene Simmons’ recent comments are misguided and insensitive. Depression and Suicide are not topics he should be using to further his notoriety or sell records. His desperation to use mental health issues to find relevancy in a modern age is sickening. I can only put it down to a brain fade on his part. The Triple M Network can’t and won’t be playing or supporting this d-ckhead’s music. I put the challenge out to other stations across Australia and North America to also drop any of this nudnik’s songs until such time as he reconsiders his thoughtless and insensitive position.”

Simmons has also been labelled a hypocrite after he tweeted, “R.I.P. Robin Williams. A kind and generous man,” in the wake of the actor’s tragic death this week.
