GLENN DANZIG ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTS A FAN AFTER HE IS CAUGHT TAKING PHOTOS AT A SHOW

Jason Silverstein of the New York Daily News reports:

Singer Glenn Danzig butted heads, literally, with a fan at a Montreal show.

According to TMZ, the singer reportedly ordered his security to assault the fan — and then beat the man personally — because he refused to stop taking pictures at a the show Sunday night (October 18th).

According to TMZ, the singer allegedly ordered his security to assault the fan — and then beat the man personally — because he refused to stop taking pictures at the show Sunday night (October 18th).

This is reportedly second time in four months that Danzig has assaulted a fan for photographing him.

The alleged victim, Neil Dalton, wrote in a now deleted Facebook post that he spent $100 and traveled to Montreal to see the show, only to get an unexpected fright when Danzig spotted him snapping photos. Danzig reportedly stopped his show to call out Dalton for violating his famous no-photo policy — then had security remove the fan and beat him, Dalton said.

Security allowed Dalton back into the show, only to drag him out once again, and this time Danzig joined in the attack, Dalton said.

The furious fan uploaded a photo that might make Danzig himself uneasy, showing his bloodied and battered face. a href=”http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/glenn-danzig-allegedly-assaulted-fan-pictures-article-1.2407568″ target=”_blank”>Click here to see the photo.

Montreal police confirmed it filed a report and is investigating but released no further details. Danzig’s rep did not return requests from the Daily News for a comment.

In July, a fan filmed himself confronting Danzig after a show for stealing a phone from the crowd. Danzig abruptly put him in a headlock and pulled him into a bus — a beating another fan caught on camera.

On the upside, his beatings are a nice change of pace from the infamous video of a fellow rocker knocking him out cold in a backstage brawl.

The New Jersey native, whose real name is Glenn Anzalone, is now touring North America, and photos apparently aren’t his only gripe — he swears he’s ready to stop touring altogether.

“I think this is going to be it,” he told Loudwire after his Wednesday (October 21st) show in New York City.

“I’ll do some shows here or there, but I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore.”

In other Danzig news, the singer will be releasing a covers album called, Skeletons, on November 27th. Danzig will be covering songs by artists such as Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Elvis Presley, ZZ Top, as well as others. To read all about this impending release, please go here.

He said, “We chose Madrid because of the immense support we’ve received there in the past. The crowds have always been very special to me – their passion is second to none, and we hope to capture the energy and excitement of the audience and the band.”

The outfit’s current tour schedule include headline European shows, UK support slots with Judas Priest and a headline run in the UK. Schenker recently spoke about making a third album with the Temple Of Rock lineup, saying it’s become a “very stable band.”

ANTHRAX RELEASE LYRIC VIDEO FOR “EVIL TWIN,” LISTEN HERE

Anthrax - 2015 Evil Twin, the first new song from Anthrax’s long-awaited album set for a first quarter 2016 worldwide release (Megaforce/North America * Nuclear Blast/Europe, UK), debuts today. Also released today is the Evil Twin lyric video, a compelling barrage of places, victims, actions, and some of the infamous zealots who have perpetrated violent extremism on innocents around the world, aptly exemplifying the song’s powerful message. Listen to it below.

Evil Twin is now available digitally, and can be purchased via iTunes and Amazon.

Musically, Evil Twin is a full-on thrash-metal tune that blasts off with a raging guitar riff, accelerates expeditiously and is completely uncontrollable.

“Yeah, that opening riff is really evil,” laughed the band’s Charlie Benante. “We had done a lot of touring with Death Angel and Exodus, so I was in a really thrashy state of mind when I starting writing the riffs for that song. I think along with Scott’s lyrics and Frank’s melodies, we came up with a really great, old school thrash metal feel.”

As bassist Frank Bello put it, “it’s a song that begs to be played live.”

Lyrically, the track unapologetically denounces the self-righteous religious extremists who spread their bloody terror under the guise of a holy war.

You represent your discontent
Slaughtering the innocent
Insolence
You’re no martyrs

“I was very affected by the Charlie Hebdo massacre as I have been with all of the shootings that have taken place at schools and movie theatres,” said guitarist/lyricist Scott Ian. “I can’t figure out what would cause someone to think that was the right thing to do. ‘I’ll show the world, I’ll make my God happy.’ It’s just such bullshit. I’m not bagging on religion, that’s not my intent, but people who go to that extreme, who feel they have become judge, jury and executioner over their fellow man because you or I don’t believe the same thing they do, I think that’s the Evil Twin of humanity. Writing words about that is my only catharsis.”

Beginning in the fall of 2014, Anthrax – Benante (drums), Ian (rhythm guitar), Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and lead guitarist Jon Donais – took their time in the studio recording the follow up to their Grammy-nominated, critically-acclaimed 2011 album, Worship Music. The band recorded some 20 original songs, almost twice as many as they had ever brought into the studio in the past. In terms of how the new music sounds, Bello said, “The thing about Anthrax…we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey’s powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but I also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like Anthrax. I think we’ve done a really good job of that on the new album.”

In other Anthrax news, the band recently announced that it will be releasing a special 30th anniversary edition of their classic album Spreading The Disease, on November 20th. Read more about this special release here.

JUDAS PRIEST FRONTMAN ROB HALFORD ON ORIGINAL GUITARIST K.K. DOWNING: “I’D LIKE TO CONSIDER THAT THE FRIENDSHIP IS STILL THERE”

robhalford400 The Metal God, Rob Halford, was recently interviewed by Mitch Lafon for a recent edition of his One On One With Mitch Lafon podcast. Excerpts from the interview appear below as transcribed by blabbermouth.net.

On whether he still considers former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing a friend:

“Well, I’d like to consider that the friendship is still there. Yes, we’ve had no communication with K.K. since he retired. There were bits and pieces that have come to the surface from various portions of the media. And, again, it’s not unusual. He’s enjoying his life. He’s having a great time, from what I know, and I’m happy for him. We’ve always had, in this band… We’re always checking on each other’s welfare: ‘How are you doing? How are you feeling? Are you having a good day? What’s going on? [Is there] anything you wanna talk about?’ And so, on that level, we wish K.K. all the best. And, again, that’s just the way it is with the band. When I was away from Priest for ten years, I think it was, I had absolutely no communication with anyone in Priest or Priest’s management, and yet when we reunited, it was as though we just kind of said goodbye last week. That’s just the extraordinary bond that’s created when you’re in music. You know what it’s like, Mitch; you’ve spoken to musicians for many, many years, and you know how groups work. It can still be an extraordinarily fragile thing to be in a group, because it’s the chemistry of the band that’s made up of very individual, separate-minded people. But that collected chemistry makes something very, very special happen in the form of the music that you write and record and perform live.”

Discussing if he disappointed that he wasn’t in contact with the members of of the band during his time away from the band:

“Yeah, there were times when I felt, ‘I wish we were having some kind of communication.’ But having been in the band for so long, and knowing everyone like we do with each other, it wasn’t that perculiar. And I think if you had asked any of my mates who were in the same circumstance — you know who I’m talking about — when they were away during their solo ventures, I’m pretty sure that they went through the same type of thing as well. It’s like you have to kind of get something out of your system. It’s quite difficult to talk about because it is such an ingrained emotional thing that you’re going through. But, yeah, there were days when I was like, ‘I wish I could speak to Glenn [Tipton, Judas Priest guitarist]. I wish I could speak to management.’ And part of it is just a very peculiar human [characteristic] we’ve got about, ‘I don’t wanna pick the phone up and make a call and be rejected or pushed back.’ You know, it’s that hindsight thing. But I think human beings always tend to think about… not the worst possible outcome, but you kind of filter that in your brain before you make a move. And I, on a daily basis, I’m always trying to better myself in that way, through my sober tools and thinking that I have around me.”

Judas Priest are currently on their Redeemer Of Souls. Remaining tour dates, with special guests, Mastadon, can be seen below.
