Iconic bassist Bob Daisely (Ozzy Osbourne, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Gary Moore, Uriah Heep) has posted the following message at his Facebook page:
“[At] this year’s recent Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, Ozzy Osbourne was presented with the Classic Album Award for our Blizzard of Ozz album. After the ceremony, Randy Rhoads’ brother and sister, Kelle and Kathy, were taken aside and secretly handed a paper bag containing an award for Randy, for his contribution to the album. I find this insulting and disrespectful to the Rhoads family and, in particular, to Randy. I’d like to know why Randy’s award wasn’t presented ‘publicly’ to the Rhoads family members, and why drummer Lee Kerslake and I weren’t even mentioned. That album was not a ‘solo’ Ozzy Osbourne record, as many have been wrongly led to believe, it was a work of art made by four people, the band called The Blizzard of Ozz. I co-wrote the music with Randy, I wrote more than 90% of the lyrics, and the four band members played on and co-produced the album together, so why did “Classic Rock” choose to acknowledge only one member of the band? I do not begrudge Ozzy receiving his award, but I’d like to know why Randy wasn’t acknowledged ceremoniously and why Lee and I weren’t even mentioned, let alone given an award for our significant contributions to that album. ‘Classic Rock’ should know better, and they should be ashamed!”
Bob’s autobiography For Facts Sake was released in July and is available for purchase at bobdaisley.com and Amazon.

I would bet my left nut that Sharon had something to do with it. Something along the lines of Ozzy wont except it unless you follow the guidlines of only Ozzy publicly gets the credit for the album.
Save your nut. Sharon isn’t worth it.
Ozzy owes his career to Randy. Everyone knows that. Sharon could do all kinds of deals and staging publicity stunts, like the dove beheading incident, but without Randy it all wouldn’t have mattered. Those first two albums are still the best albums of Ozzy’s solo career and it’s because of Randy Rhoads. Everyone knows that to.
James,
randy was amazing no doubt, but if the songs were really bad , it wouldn’t matter who played guitar on the album – the success of Ozzy has alot to do with pulling himself together , and accepting help, and of course finding randy, but Daisely, & Kerslake deserve just as much credit as Ozzy if they co-wrote those songs . and i agree with bob daisely ‘s point of view on this. they should have acknowledged all the songwriters! Ozzy had the perfect set of circumstances happen at once , his undeniable talent and charisma, a fantastic ryth. section Randy Rhodes and” great songs “
Absolutely, you are right: Bob and Lee deserve just as much credit. Ozzy did pull himself together and I believe Randy was incredibly inspiring to Ozzy and that helped him regain the confidence that he had lost after getting fired from Sabbath. But just the chemistry that original band obviously had at one point had to have been just as inspiring to Ozzy as well. Randy’s music combined with Bob’s lyrics along with Ozzy’s melodies was a magic combination. They were a fantastic band. I was outraged when Bob and Lee were wiped from the original recordings and replaced by Mike Bordin and Robert Trujillo. They’ve been disrespected for too long and deserve recognition. Luckily for them there are fans like us that know how important they were to Ozzy’s band. It still would have been nice for Ozzy to publicly acknowledged his bandmates for their contributions. But, we all know who’s pulling the strings and steering the course of Ozzy’s career and ultimately that’s who needs to take the majority of the blame along with Ozzy himself.
You’re absolutely right James, we all know the truth, the only people they’re fooling are themselves. Sharon should be ashamed of herself, but you know she isn’t.
Easy b—h Sharon controls all things Ozzy and it’s kind of pathetic.
Sharon, it has to be. I really don’t like alot of things she does.
In $haron’$ view Randy, Bob and Lee were simply hired hands. Besides, if Classic Rock didn’t agree with $haron’$ demands, Ozzy wouldn’t have appeared.
