9/23: BOOK OUT TOMORROW, TODAY’S APPEARANCES!

Super crazy but exciting time for me as Essential Hard Rock & Metal VOL 2 is out everywhere books are sold tomorrow! Launch and first signing at Hard Rock Times Sq 6:30-8:30 tomorrow. Today starts about 6 weeks straight of a super intense schedule, but will be fun. Today I’ll be on Freewheelin on SiriusXM at 1:30P ET, then with my buds Ron & Fez live at 2P ET on SiriusXM. Then my own show 6-10P ET on SiriusXM 39 with Phil Collen as guest. Then the day rounds out with two more old friends having me on their show. Scott Ferrall live at 11P ET on CBS Sports Network, and Artie Lange live on radio and TV on DirecTV at 12:20A tonight. Almost all stream and can be accessed online as well. 9/21: TMS, RADIO UPDATE, BOOK INFO FOR WORLDWIDE SHIPPING!

Thanks to Rex Brown for hanging out last night on the Q104.3 show. Good to see him and we played some new Kill Devil Hill for the first time anywhere that sounded great. Album out end of October. Hear this show free next weekend on all my affiliate stations listed on this site. Also thanks to Joe Satriani for calling in live from the road.

Some news coming on TMS I think you guys will all be happy about. Details still being worked out but the show continues to grow and will share more news when I can. Looking at the Fall hopefully to tape more.

9/19: METALLICA FILM, RADIO SHOWS, BOOK 2 TOUR, MORE

Super crazy time for me but all good with the book days from coming out and the signing tour kicking off Tuesday in NYC at the Hard Rock. Please be sure to follow on Twitter as it’s my easiest way to update you whats what going forward. Hosted a screening of the Metallica film last night in NYC. If you are a Metallica fan you will love it. What I mean by that is at it’s core this is a very well done concert film. But if you think there is much more going on than that there really isn’t. I noticed a few people that thought this was more of a scripted film and were not metal fans walk out a few songs in. To me the extra stuff between songs and story line of the film acting parts was very tough to figure out and didn’t make much sense. But it didn’t bother me because it was fairly minimal in the movie. But the performance, audio, video and set list from the band was killer, and the stage show was cool as well. I am not a fan of 3D movies at all and to me that didn’t add much. But if you look at it as a great document of a Metallica live show it’s really good and since almost anyone reading this IS a Metallica fan I would strongly suggest seeing it 9/27.

Last live Q104 show tomorrow night before I leave for the book tour and then a trip to Brazil. Rex Brown in studio and Joe Satriani calls in. Plus tickets to the radio party 10/23. 9/17: MERCH STORE OPEN, MOTLEY IN OK, VOL 2 OUT IN 1 WEEK!

Just back from a week with Motley Crue in Oklahoma. As usual the fans were amazing. Ever since I started coming to OK in 2007 for the first Rocklahoma I’m blown away how passionate they are for hard rock music. Motley’s set was a warm up for the Vegas residency. If you follow on Twitter I sent many photos and the set list out. The set was the same every night. A mix of deep track and hits with the opener “Red Hot”! The stage show was stripped down a bit by Crue standards. This was more about getting the music down. Now the band has rehearsal in Vegas to get the show down, which Nikki told me will be heavy on fire the entire time. It’s a tight 80 minute set and I look forward to now seeing it with the new production in Vegas next month (I will be signing my new book in Vinyl right next to the Joint in The Hard Rock Casino just before Motley plays 10/4). Had a chance to spend time with all the guys who seemed to be in great spirits. Hung mostly with Nikki for a couple days and it was great to talk music and catch up some (YES I have invited him on TMS many times! Up to him when he wants to do it!). Huge thanks to the band and their crew for being super cool with me being on these shows. Was a great time and the fans were truly amazing at all 3 gigs. Also thanks to the promoters for bringing me out and making me part of this.

Was also great to see the new STP who opened the show in OKC. Amazed how much Chester looks and moves like Weiland on stage. Spent time talking with the guys who seem very happy about this great bands future with him on board.

9/9: MOTLEY IN OK, ALTER BRIDGE, JERICHO, NEW BOOK, MORE!

Great to have football back, not so great start for my Giants. But things can be fixed and there were some positives so too early to panic. Just love having NFL back!
