As previously reported Buckcherry is to release the radio unfriendly Fuck EP on August 19th – with each of the six tracks featuring the four-letter word in the title.

Singer Josh Todd tells Billboard that the band is “already working on a new album…We want to put a record out (every) year, like they did in the 70s,” he says. “I just want to start making 10-song records, nothing more. Ten songs once a year and just stay steady.” The group has also launched on Singles Club through PledgeMusic, where fans can receive one cover per month for six months; releases so far include the Rolling Stones’ Beast of Burden and Minor Threat’s Small Man, Big Mouth.

Skid Row releases Rise of the Damnation Army — United World Rebellion: Chapter Two today (August 5th) as the second in a series of three EPs. And bassist Rachel Bolan tells Billboard the group has been surprised and gratified to see fans buying into the concept and starting “sectors” of the Damnation Army all over the world. “We came up with this idea of United World Rebellion, and it’s united a lot of people together,” Bolan says. “Someone in Finland would start the street team, then Japan, New York — we’re watching them all come to life in front of us, and the common thread is Skid Row. We’ll see fans from Italy who invite fans from Brazil to hang out because they’ve started sectors and started communicating with each other through social media. It’s like, ‘Wow, we’re bringing our fans from different parts of the world together,’ so the United part is really working. It’s just a really cool thing.”
Bolan says Skid Row has “ideas but no songs yet” for Chapter Three. “That way it’s really in the moment and fresh,” he explains. “We don’t do the big rehearsals and pre-production; we get through the five originals songs and then after that we start deciding on what songs we’re doing to do, cover-wise. So we learn everything in the studio and go right to the record with those, because we want it to feel completely natural.

Gene Simmons of KISS has some heated words for drug addicts and people dealing with depression in a new interview with Songfacts.com.
When asked if he keeps in touch with the original players of KISS he answered with a resounding “no.”
Why’s that? Simple: they’re either drug addicts or just downers.
“I don’t get along with anybody who’s a drug addict and has a dark cloud over their head and sees themselves as a victim,” Simmons said. “Drug addicts and alcoholics are always: ‘The world is a harsh place.’ My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. I don’t want to hear f–k all about ‘the world as a harsh place.’ She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life.
And for a putz, 20-year-old kid to say, ‘I’m depressed, I live in Seattle.’ F–k you, then kill yourself.”
He added “I never understand, because I always call them on their bluff. I’m the guy who says ‘Jump!’ when there’s a guy on top of a building who says, ‘That’s it, I can’t take it anymore, I’m going to jump.’ Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut the f–k up, have some dignity and jump! You’ve got the crowd.”
While Simmons said KISS has new songs ready, there are no plans to record anytime soon. But, there is one artist he’d love to record with in the future: Lady Gaga.
“I think Lady Gaga is the only new rock star, although she’s not a rocker,” he said. “I would like her to throw away all the disco stuff and get a band. Don’t use tapes, come out with a real live band and guitars. She’s a bona fide musical artist. She did a duet with Tony Bennett, real great pipes. She can sit at a piano all by herself. She’s a legitimate artist. A lot of the other pop divas who are really talented are not artists.”
Simmons said KISS and Gaga tried to collaborate on their last record but both were too busy.
“We got close. She got busy, we got busy. We would have done it.”
Legendary thrash metal band Exodus have revealed the never-before-seen album art for their upcoming album, Blood In, Blood Out, hitting retail and digital stores on October 14th through Nuclear Blast. The album art was illustrated by Swedish artist Par Olofsson, known worldwide for his incredible renderings that have graced the covers of countless heavy metal albums, including EXODUS’ Let There Be Blood.
The concept for the art was impressively envisaged by Olofsson based on the album title alone, as Gary Holt explains, “The concept came from Par Olofsson – I fed him the title and he immediately came up with the final concept, and it’s perfect! One of my favorite covers we’ve ever done and it fits the title and theme to a T!”
Blood In, Blood Out is Exodus’ 10th studio album, and marks the band’s first release with new vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza since 2004’s Tempo of the Damned. It was also just announced via Rolling Stone that Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett churned out a special guest solo for one of the tracks on the album. More details are set to be released soon, including release dates, track listing information, pre-order specifics, and more.

Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has paid tribute to his club owner uncle Manny Roth, who’s died at the of 95.
His Cafe Wha? establishment in New York gave Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and many others a kickstart to their careers in the 1960s and 70s.
Best known as the place where Animals bassist Chas Chandler saw Hendrix playing and became his manager, the establishment opened in 1959 and played host to leaders of the beat generation movement in its early years. Roth was reputed to have spent his last $100 on decorating it before it opened.
Cafe Wha? also helped launch the careers of comedians including Woody Allen, Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor.
Singer Roth has blacked out his website in tribute, with a short note reading: “Uncle Manny has passed away. He was happy, laughing and smiling right up ’til the end. His presence already missed, his contributions with us for ever.”
The venue’s Facebook page reports: “He was a legend in discovering talent and he will be dearly missed by us all. Thanks for everything, Manny – and we hope to continue your legacy long into the future.”
