With all the media chatter about the reunion shows of Dokken’s classic lineup, I remembered that the band had appeared on Dick Clark’s, American Bandstand, back in 1985, where they played, Just Got Lucky and Alone Again.
So, I thought it would be fun to post that classic footage, and we could have our own mini reunion, of sorts, right here on the site. Enjoy…
BTW, for those who would like to skip to the interview, please go to 4:38.

Ah the good ole days, reminds me of when Don could sing.
Dana – this is the greatest thing you’ve ever posted.
So cool. Wonder how “live” it was, but nevertheless awesome.
I don’t think any music on American Bandstand was ever live. Maybe live mics singing to a track.
I agree, Michael,
I do not think any of the artists on, American Bandstand, were ever “live.” It was all lip synching, and the musicians pretending to play their instruments.
But, God bless Dick Clark, he was such a legend, and I loved that he had quite a few metal bands on his show. He was responsible for exposing me to Def Leppard, so I always loved him for that, plus everyone, who was anyone, played Bandstand.
D 🙂
Agreed. Dick Clark was an original advocate for pop and rock music alike.
I know how much of the music performance was live- exactly none.
LOL!!
Can`t forget the ole Solid Gold days either. Nothing like watching Ozzy lip sync bark at the moon or Quiet Riot doing bang your head. They had some metal bands on there representing, lol. Bon Jovi, autograph, twisted sister, Kiss singing “I” from the elder(classic) and the list goes on……….. Kinda funny that Andy Gibb was the host for awhile also.
Wow, Ray, talk about a blast from the past. 🙂
Yes, I vaguely remember, Solid Gold. Didn’t that show also have the Solid Gold dancers who wore gold costumes/spandex?
D 🙂
Young teenage me was keen on the lady Solid Gold dancers.
Good times.
