  1. Ok, that was embarassing and it almost made me throw up a little in my mouth. The vocals are God awful, the drums are clumsy, and it sounds like it was recorded in a tool shed. If Steve Miller was dead, he’d be rolling in his grave.

    1. Hey, man of a thousand names, I’m sure you’ll be the first one in line next week to get Ace’s autograph, and if you’re lucky, maybe Ace will throw up a little in your face.
      Have a nice day. 🙂

    2. vocals are what you get with Ace so I can’t see the insults being necessary. It would not be my first choice of a Ace Cover BUT it is OK. I liked Fox on the Run and 2000 man better. The guitar was OK too.

Would have liked to see him cover something from Fu Manchu his vocal would fit and the he could jazz up one of there songs with the Ace vibe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqYeedwEA4E

    3. Vinnie Vincent’s landlord’s name is Vinnie too? So I guess Bob Kulick’s barber’s name is Bob as well?

    4. I thought it was O.K…..Not a “strong” track………Solo was a classic ace….Hopefully the rest of the album is better…I have to agree with a lot of you….The sound was pretty bad…Those are programed drums…guitar rig guitars…solo was live…..The vocals are way to loud in the mix…They have to cover he’s not a strong vocalist….

  2. That sounds sooooo bad!!!!!! The rest of the album is super good but the joker is a major joke! Why the hell would ace put a terrible cover on a album full of great originals? Makes zero sense to me. Steve Miller should sue Ace that song that’s how bad it is. Take that song off and you have one of the top album of the year!

    1. I don’t think it’s that bad honestly, but I do agree not needed. And it’s on there because classic rock program directors might play it vs an original new song.

    2. True–New York Groove was the hit off the 78 album but Rip it Out, Speedin back to my baby, Ozone, Wiped Out, etc…, were WAY better IMO.

  3. This is related to Genes comments about suicide and depression. Clinical depression is deadly. I wonder how Gene feels about Robin Williams death???? My best friends dad did the same thing. He was funny, loving and courageous. it is an actual disease in the brain and once it clicks into the death mode there’s almost nothing that can be done. It’s not about being a “victim” are pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. I’m angry, hurt and disgusted by his comments. Sorry to post here but the Gene story is gone now, this Robin Williams thing brought it back to me. Good luck with your new album Ace. Stay clean, we love you.

If you are struggling with depression there IS help. Therapists and meds can help you turn it around. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. ‪#‎DONTGIVEUP‬ ‪#‎LiveToWin‬

Paul, I’m guessing, agrees with you, this was on his facebook page.

    2. Gene’s quote from his twitter account was, “R.I.P. ROBIN WILLIAMS. A KIND AND GENEROUS MAN.”

What a shocking change of attitude from the man who just a few weeks ago told people who are addicts and depressed, “F**k you! Kill yourself!” For all we know Robin Williams read those words and took his advice. The whole things is so sad.

    1. FYI for those that don’t like this Ace has said it was his label that wanted him to do it. I’m sure the thinking is there is a better shot at airplay at classic rock stations. I agree another cover was not needed though.

    2. Exactly! Covers like this are for bar/garage bands trying to get attention and make a name for themselves, not an established musician who’s been around for over 40 years already! 😉

    3. I love Ace…but I just wished it was a bit more ……serious?? Trying not to sound pessimist but I know Ace can kick ass….he has proven it time & time again!! Joe in The Cuse
