    Their new music is hard as s–t to remember all the changes, so they really kicked ass on it. Lady Gaga was at one time a metal/hard rock fan, probably still is, so hopefully she will be belting out some vocal lines like Halestorm.

    This may strike some of you metaloids as odd, but at this point, I’d rather watch Lady GaGa than Metallica ‘}

      Mark,

      I usually do not watch the Grammys, for obvious reasons, but I tuned in to see this performance, with much hesitation and speculation. As bad as I anticipated it was going to be, it was far worse, Gaga was terrible. Her vocals do not suit thrash, her stripper gyrations completely out of place and unnecessary, all the while her outfit was distracting, as usual.

      As much as I dislike her as an artist for a myriad of reasons, some legitimate, and others admittedly superficial, I will acknowledge that she has a very good voice. She happens to be an excellent Jazz vocalist. But my issue with her is, that she is all pomp and circumstance with overly dramatic mannerisms that distract from her actual talent.

      Her Super Bowl performance was decent, but this one appearance, negated all of that, unfortunately.

      I agree with dana lady g has a good voice , but she is an eccentric performance artist at heart – she was awful at the grammys

      If you read the Blabbermouth comments, it seems most people thought she was great. Were those people watching the same performance we all did?!

    I have to agree with Dana here, the Grammy performance was terrible, and it wasn’t just because Hetfield had a dead mic all through the first verse. It didn’t work. I like the Super Bowl GAGA much better. Bring back the Love Game schtick, Lady!

    Craig,

    I guess we will agree to disagree on Gaga, with both her Grammy appearance, and her performance on, American Horror Story.

    I have watched every season of AHS from its inception, and I thought, Hotel, one was one of the most substandard seasons, in terms of writing and plot lines.

    As for Gaga, I found her acting stiff and wooden. All she did was speak in whispered tones, wore glamorous clothing when she wasn’t “nude” (if that was her and not a body double) and pose, not very inventive.

    The best AHS series, in my opinion, hands down, was Asylum. Jessica Lange was excellent, as was Zachary Quinto, James Cromwell, Sarah Paulson. In fact, the whole cast was amazing for that series. Kathy Bates joined for the next season, Coven, and she is also a phenomenal actress and can do anything well.

    Gaga had a hard time keeping up along side such luminaries as Bates, Paulson and Bassett. Also, the last series, Roanoke, was interesting, and far better than Hotel, which I found silly. Hotel, and the first series, Murder House, were the two weakest seasons, in my opinion, thus far.

    I wanted to say one last thing about the metalli-ga performance , ga ga has a lot of fans and she has a great voice but being a performance artist before ” making it” to me it looked exactly like she came out and pretended to be a rocker, and came off looking foolish , {to her credit she realized what was happening with the dead mic and went to james so he could be heard } also who the hell told Metallica this was a good move for them???? if they wanted to promote their new album and create a great moment on stage it should have been Joan jett, or pink, even…. am I really saying this….. Ariana grande – I know it’s easy to second guess after the fact , I just thought the performance was hilariously awful

      Funny, I dubbed it Gag-tallica (self explanatory). πŸ˜‰
