Last night we posted a story in the news section that was sent to me via Twitter about Kiss replacing Gene and Paul and continuing on with a band of no original members. We later found out the original story was from 2008. While the haters will just attack and say it was calculated to further some insane anti – Kiss agenda (love how I am so anti Kiss and STILL PLAY ALL THEIR MUSIC, too funny!), I left it up for two reasons. One the amount of differing opinions on this generated in comments was interesting and ALL views were posted, and two this is still the plan and closer than ever to happening! If this is what they were planning 6 years ago it is really just around the corner now! Clearly the way they do it might be altered but this is still happening and the band has discussed it in the press even recently. So nothing has changed except for it is more imminent! I am hearing maybe two years away from launching at this point with the current (Gene and Paul) band having maybe one more run left after the current tour. What was stunning about this is how many saw it as major news they never heard? This has been talked about and discussed for a long time by Gene and Paul. So no mater where you fall on it I decided to leave it up because I found ALL sides of the reaction interesting and posted ALL response to it. Unlike some I respect and appreciate all opinions and they are represented here as well as my radio and TV shows. But to see this as some crazy dated story that is no longer the plan is not the case. Some may want to live in some fantasy land but all our heroes are getting older (so are we!) and how they handle the end of their careers will be interesting. Who really retires, who stuck around too long, who does bands with no original members. All good debate and all welcome here.

I’m so tired of hearing that there’s or any band is a brand. Maybe a brand to continue selling merchandise after you are retired, but not a brand that you can completely change the band and keep selling that as KISS. I’m sure there are musicians out there that will gladly join the new version of KISS, because of $$$$$$ but they will sell their souls to the devil too. They won’t be able to create the music they like and more than likely they will have to follow a detailed guideline on how and what to do in band(playing, writing, and you name it). The great thing about being in a band is; being uniquely creative, that will not be possible in the new KISS with Gene and Paul still alive. Sometimes it’s best to let things live in memory and history, than to recreate something that you know wasn’t the unique band that started out on the streets on New York. Gene and Paul might create a band that is very similar to the current Kiss, but you can’t recreate the individuals that had the dream and freedom to create the music they wanted too..Good Luck to the New Kiss.
Agreed, because: what makes something precious? Its rarity. Being unique. Business is never about being unique, business is about duplicating sth. to be able to sell it to as many people as possible and as many times as possible while making it seem like the rare experience it once was..
I think after this tour, Paul will be replaced, but still be involved with the band. They will cut a new CD featuring the new “Starchild” and tour to support it. Then Gene will replace himself and take over managing the KISS show in Las Vegas and KISS Kruises. The new “Demon” will do all sorts of crazy tricks and stunts.
This new KISS will perform and support the other KISS businesses when not playing Vegas or on the Kruises. Expect to see much more exposure by new KISS.

Haven’t you ever seen a KISS tribute band??? Why did you see a KISS tribute band if it had no original members?? To see the show!! To hear the music!! Did it matter who was behind the make-up?? No!!

The Ace/Tommy, Peter/Eric make-up thing? WHEN were Paul and Gene suppose to “introduce” the new characters?? After Peter and Ace’s 1st 2nd or 3rd time quitting the band. HOW were they supposed to introduce them? “This is The Wolf and The Klingon the new members of KISS! Oh, but Peter’s back so is Acr so they’re gone, but wait there goes Ace and Peter again so here they are again!” And WHY would they get new characters??? To hide their identities???
C’mon Eddie, Let US who want to keep enjoying KISS enjoy them as they WERE, ARE, and WILL BE!!
You’re no longer a fan, so stop putting them down for doing what they want and can!
MILLIONS of US still like them for WHATEVER reason.
Just go and Keep giving rave reviews to all the tons of ACE and PETER projects and leave us be.

Music is a personal choice. I have my memories of the KISS that changed my young life. May 16, 1975 @ Cobo Hall Detroit Michigan. KISS without Ace and Peter, is not for me. Thats my personal choice!!!
