Last night we posted a story in the news section that was sent to me via Twitter about Kiss replacing Gene and Paul and continuing on with a band of no original members. We later found out the original story was from 2008. While the haters will just attack and say it was calculated to further some insane anti – Kiss agenda (love how I am so anti Kiss and STILL PLAY ALL THEIR MUSIC, too funny!), I left it up for two reasons. One the amount of differing opinions on this generated in comments was interesting and ALL views were posted, and two this is still the plan and closer than ever to happening! If this is what they were planning 6 years ago it is really just around the corner now! Clearly the way they do it might be altered but this is still happening and the band has discussed it in the press even recently. So nothing has changed except for it is more imminent! I am hearing maybe two years away from launching at this point with the current (Gene and Paul) band having maybe one more run left after the current tour. What was stunning about this is how many saw it as major news they never heard? This has been talked about and discussed for a long time by Gene and Paul. So no mater where you fall on it I decided to leave it up because I found ALL sides of the reaction interesting and posted ALL response to it. Unlike some I respect and appreciate all opinions and they are represented here as well as my radio and TV shows. But to see this as some crazy dated story that is no longer the plan is not the case. Some may want to live in some fantasy land but all our heroes are getting older (so are we!) and how they handle the end of their careers will be interesting. Who really retires, who stuck around too long, who does bands with no original members. All good debate and all welcome here.

Eddie, your obsession with this band is out of control.
I disagree. It’s a smart move and great for discussion. These posts are receiving the most comments. It’s a subject many are interested in pursuing. Alternatively, go to Kiss’s website. No discussions, just news, which is also good.
I know that at least one time Foreigner played a show with no original members and nobody seemed to notice. Yet if Kiss talks about it there is outrage. So many bands from the 70’s and 80’s tour with one out of five or one out of four originals, yet Kiss has 50% of the lineup in tact and it’s a problem. Because of the silly makeup? At least I still have them to entertain me after all these years. Bands like Aerosmith are a rarity, and remember they had replacements at one point but in the name of money they knew to get back with each other. If Kiss did the same it’s just a money grab. This topic is getting old, if you don’t like something why pay attention to it? I am still a fan.
I heard Molly Hatchet but who would know about that. Skynyrd and guns and roses are one guy away.
KISS has been their own tribute band for years. Nothing really new. The same worn out show for the last 20 plus years. I was a die hard fan but if you can’t bring anything new to the table then it’s time to say thank you and good night!
The biggest impediment to ongoing success is their music can be played by others….tribute bands, etc. The band does not have exclusive rights to play their own music. What would a no-original KISS lineup bring to the table? Money for a bigger stage show? It can and will be done, but the financial results will be lackluster.
That’s the point, Kiss as it is now is will always be more than the tribute bands just because there are the original members, that decisive qualitiy is gone once G and P have left. As the New Kiss they would have to prove themselves against all the other tribute bands around, some of them being really good, so where is the point in seeing this new band? Maybe the first time on tour they will have the big show and stage because G and P are financing it but once it lacks the former financial success (and it sure will) this will also be lost. So I come to think that the TV casting show will be the one thing they will use to make big money one more time before it is all over for them.
