Last night we posted a story in the news section that was sent to me via Twitter about Kiss replacing Gene and Paul and continuing on with a band of no original members. We later found out the original story was from 2008. While the haters will just attack and say it was calculated to further some insane anti – Kiss agenda (love how I am so anti Kiss and STILL PLAY ALL THEIR MUSIC, too funny!), I left it up for two reasons. One the amount of differing opinions on this generated in comments was interesting and ALL views were posted, and two this is still the plan and closer than ever to happening! If this is what they were planning 6 years ago it is really just around the corner now! Clearly the way they do it might be altered but this is still happening and the band has discussed it in the press even recently. So nothing has changed except for it is more imminent! I am hearing maybe two years away from launching at this point with the current (Gene and Paul) band having maybe one more run left after the current tour. What was stunning about this is how many saw it as major news they never heard? This has been talked about and discussed for a long time by Gene and Paul. So no mater where you fall on it I decided to leave it up because I found ALL sides of the reaction interesting and posted ALL response to it. Unlike some I respect and appreciate all opinions and they are represented here as well as my radio and TV shows. But to see this as some crazy dated story that is no longer the plan is not the case. Some may want to live in some fantasy land but all our heroes are getting older (so are we!) and how they handle the end of their careers will be interesting. Who really retires, who stuck around too long, who does bands with no original members. All good debate and all welcome here.

Everyone has opinions…. but if you like the band does it really matter? Growing up a huge music fan my first time seeing anything live concerning the Beatles was beatlemania…. still good . For those who think the original four should get back. .. read Paul’s book. It validates all the stories I heard in the 80’s about Ace and Peter
But thats just Pauls version of how he saw things, i dont think we will ever fully know what really happened and who said what cause memories blur over time, as for KISS goin on without paul or gene, i cant see it lasting long, people will check it out to see what they are like and then drop off i think.
Who knows, maybe can finally get thayer out of the spaceman outfit lol
Paul sure is well aware of the fact that there is the P & G camp versus the A & P camp, so he uses this controversy to give his camp what they expect to sell his book, simple, isn’t it?! Ergo, just do not believe what they say.
From a business perspective I think the move makes sense. The legacy will continue for future fans to enjoy an incredible stage production and at the same time keep the Kiss repertoire Alive for years to come. Its the perfect ending for the aging rockers (Gene and Paul) to bow out gracefully, boost their profit margin, and still add another chapter to the story. Who knows, maybe one day the band will have the next generation of Stanley and Simmons at the helm….if anything, it will be fun to watch..
I have been a die-hard KISS fan since I saw ALIVE! in the local Albertson’s grocery store. The next Christmas, I received Destroyer, and from there…well, let’s just say I was one of there biggest fans. Skip to 2013 and Paul taking Gene’s normal role of A@$H@!3. Are they really going to rehash the same hits 20 years from now? I still LOVE the original members and know that their current line-up consists of much better musicians BUT, if I wanted to head great musicians from yesteryear, I would be listening to Toto or Aisa…I will always love the original four and their music (Psycho Circus too) but have to ask…don’t they see the cheese that they are adding to the already cheesiness of it all?
They can do what they want… but after the childish hissy fits they threw at Ace and Peter about not playing 1-2 songs at the RRHOF and at the Directors of the RRHOF…They will no longer get my money…I have all the albums, and I have seen them with and without makeup, but they acted like idiots over this whole hall of fame issue, and didnt even give the fans the respect to give the fans one last ride of glory with all four members…damn shame. Those guys weren’t even begging to come back into the band, they just wanted to give the fans what they wanted…
