Back from another great trip to the Seminole Hard Rock in S FL. This time I hosted Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience in a sold out show this past Wednesday. It had been a few years since I saw Jason do this show and it was AMAZING! I have seen MANY Zeppelin tributes but in my opinion nothing touches this. Why? Well Jason is just a beast channeling his Dad and of course played with Zeppelin. The personal connection in the show through videos is a nice touch. But the other huge part is the band which is killer! James Catania nails the “live” Jimmy Page, right down to the looseness he could have live. The guitar sound spot on. But the major weapon here is singer James Dylan who I dare say sings Plant way better than Plant himself could today. All the stuff is in the original key and this guy just NAILS it all! The entire band is just flawless. And what’s also cool is nobody is trying to act or look like the people in Zeppelin. Just 4-5 guys being their own people and nailing spot on some of the greatest hard rock ever created. For me I love some of the deeper cuts performed. Especially “Wearin & Tearin'”, “Fool In The Rain” and “The Wanton Song”. The sound was massive! Sadly we have no more of the real band, but to me this is as close as it gets sound wise. I truly hope Jason keeps doing this because with all the Zep guys in limbo, or not really playing this catalog, this is a great way to celebrate it and keep it alive. And yes I’ve heard many comment about Train playing Zeppelin on Stern. All due respect to them, that was great, but as cool as that was this is just next level.

That press conference should be a great time… I’ll be out there for the Guns shows.
