Hope you guys all enjoyed the all new That Metal Show last night. It’s been great to be able to feature such a wide variety of rock, hard rock and metal in the shows evolution. Guys like Mick Jones and Leslie West have so much history it’s hard to even scratch the surface on TV with the time we have. Was cool seeing Marty Friedman geek out over Mick Jones “Hot Blooded” solo! Huge thanks to Leslie West for the amazing guitar. Had no idea that was coming! One day I MUST learn to play! Was also cool to have Lita jam. She is a big part of our shows history as the first ever guest, and now the first ever woman to perform for us. I did talk with Leslie about the loss of his leg and I did talk with Mick about Lou Gramm and the recent performance at the songwriters HOF but it was cut for time. Some will likely end up as online extras. I’ll post links when I can or visit www.thatmetalshow.vh1.com for more. Show replays all week. Next taping is this Tuesday in NYC with Mick Mars! So cool to have the unsung hero of Motley on our show for the hour. Truly underrated player too! Mick will also be in studio with me tomorrow for a LIVE TRUNKNation 6-10P ET on SiriusXM channel 39. Don’t miss it! More soon.
Quick update on the Kiss R&R HOF drama. My sources telling me that as of now, unless Gene and Paul change their mind and decide to play with the original band, there will be no performance of any kind for the bands induction. Common thought was that perhaps an all star band would be assembled to tribute Kiss since there is no performance from them now with any version of the band. But there will be no tribute either. Likely just a video package on the screens. So where we stand now is no performance at all of any kind related to Kiss, or the original band does a song or two in or out of makeup. And we all no as of now that ain’t happening. Still time for things to change but very reliable sources telling me that’s the HOF position as of now. Also each of the four original members get 3 minutes each for their speeches during the induction and only those inducted are at the podium for those speeches.

Hi Eddie,
Considering your integrity, knowledge, passion & love for all things rock and metal, along with your many relationships with our rock & metal heroes, have you ever considered opening a TRUE rock & metal hall of fame? Perhaps the “board” could consist of real rockers that vote in new bands each year. This “board” would change every two years so to eliminate favoritism, etc. you could nominate those you believe should be on the board and the fans vote who gets on the board. THEN the “board” can begin the voting process of what bands/artists get in, etc. it certainly would be a much more reputable & honest process than the current process by the elitist board at the country club hof. Just a thought! And hire me to help, I hate my job!!
Gotta chime in one quick thing. As a guy who loves the Rock Hall (the museum), I’m tired of folks saying that the Rock Hall store sells KISS merchandise like that’s all they sell or something. THEY SELL EVERY-FREAKING-BODY’S MERCH! IT’S A FREAKING MUSIC STORE LIKE ANY MUSIC STORE!
At least Van Halen didn’t play and didn’t use Wolfgang and dress him and act like Michael Anthony
I love the points made in an earlier comment about no matter how much they bitches and whined and didn’t want to be in Kiss and despite the begging of Gene and Paul to stay for the band and for the fans time and time again they made fun of and mocked the begging and refused. Gene and Paul despite even often in the glory years cleaning up their messes and covering up their mistakes STILL fought for them to stay. Ace and Peter have always wanted their cake and to eat it too. All those years Gene and Pail kept the flag flying and even after the trainwreck the first go around gave us fans a reunion and YES it did tons to keep kiss going and YES it totally paved way for the fortune to follow. My point is mang times Ace and Peter were invited not to abuse the privelede to perform for the Kiss army and not walk away and they chose their own way. I find it so ironic that now when they want to play more than ever the the door is now locked and no one is answering…if you all want to name call Gene and Paul after 40 yrs of keeping our favorite band around go ahead..its your right. I for one think its sad that 11years of hard work ,2 albums, many tours and great playing by Eric and Tommy is referred to ad illegitimate and as impersonators. They yes use the makeup, but they bring a lot to Kiss and deserve some credit
I hope HOF stands their ground. Only the original 4 are being inducted and therefore the current band has no business playing. I’d rather see video of the 70s than watch fake Ace.
