2/3: TRUNKNATION, HOUSTON SATURDAY, KISS, NUGENT, MORE

Sorry didn’t make it in for a show tonight on SiriusXM. Still fighting a stomach bug and we were hammered by a bad snow storm here in the NJ/NY area today. No way I could get in if I wanted to and I have no set up in my house from the company. I will be back live next Monday for TrunkNation. More details when we get closer.

Shooting TMS with Ted Nugent tomorrow. First time having him on the show and yes, it’s TMS, so the focus will be music! Had Ted on my radio show recently and was refreshing to talk music with him there as well. Also in the show will be Biff from Saxon via Skype. Gary Hoey plays guitar. It will premiere this Saturday.

I suspect you might be hearing something from some members of Kiss and the HOF soon.. General public tickets are going on sale soon and people still wondering what will or won’t happen, we shall see.. More here when news to share.

Thanks to all who are coming out to see me at Concert Pub North in Houston this Saturday. Should be a blast!

A lot of people are battling assorted flu bugs here where I live in Central NY. It’s not easy getting acclimated to the crazy weather with a week hovering around 0 to 10 degrees and then a few days in the 30s and back down again.

I enjoy Ted Nugent’s music. But there’s a definite change in his stuff from the 1970s into the 1980s. I have an extremely hard time believing he never took drugs. There are plenty of drug references in his songs going back to “Journey to the Center of Your Mind,” which Ted claims he was unaware of, up to a lot of the stuff from Double Live Gonzo. His music changed in the 1980s and it sounds like someone who gave up drugs. I don’t believe it was just the band members changing, even though that certainly was part of the equation.

Frank Zappa was notoriously anti-drug, but in Howard Kaylan’s autobiography Howard sets the record straight, and unbeknownst to most Zappa fans, Frank did smoke pot on occasion and enjoyed a few drinks here and there. I think Frank was naturally pretty crazy (probably Aspergers) but anyways I don’t believe Ted when he says he never partook.

The stakes are high and so am I !……Teds music in the eighties was very ” corporate rock”. Totally different sound from the seventies stuff.

Hey, Eddie. Sorry you’re under the weather. Sirius really should have made an announcement or something last night, as I was afraid that they had discontinued the show since there wasn’t a prerecorded show running in your place. I guess this is just more proof that they’re assholes and don’t care about you or your fans/their subscribers. Get well soon!

Thanks Chuck! It was somewhat last minute on my end but I have asked them in the future to run Best Ofs if possible

Luc Carl kept saying you were doing something awesome, that’s why you weren’t there. Obviously he had no idea. Having the flu is not awesome.

He was just called last second so I’m sure had no info

Eddie…nice job getting Ted Nugent…can’t wait to see it. Also, thanks for getting Paul Rodgers a while back. He’s the best and is another who should be honored in some way (HOF or something more respectable) as his contribution to music is so underrated. Keep bringin’ it!!

Agreed on Paul, thanks. We have another classic rock themed show coming up with Mick Jones and Leslie West!

    Hey Ed
Ok … interesting tease on the KISS newsfront.
Can you share anything more, or do we just have to wait it out?

Diggin’ the new shows sir …..

Waiting along with everyone else as to what will or won’t happen..

I’m looking forward to next week’s show with Ted Nugent. Always like hearing him speak. It will be nice hearing him talk music on the show, but I do agree with him on alot of other issues as well. The Mick Jones & Leslie West episode should be great as well.
