Had a few great radio shows already this week with guests Ray Luzier, John 5 and John Bush this week. Also just had a GREAT dialogue with callers about popular bands that some people don’t like. This was driven by Joey Kramer of Aerosmith’s recent comments about the Rolling Stones. I HATE that when we finally get an artist with the balls to give and honest opinion in this hyper PC world people jump all over them! How many times do I hear interviews with people that give the politically correct answers? Always! Some guys you can give the answer before it comes out! So for once we have a guy being honest with HIS opinion, and I applaud it if I agree or not. So we just had a great talk with callers about this and it was a fun show for sure. Check it out again tonight 9-11P ET on SiriusXM 106 Volume. And kudos Joey Kramer for being honest with YOUR taste in music. Why it’s so shocking that he likes his own band better I have no idea..
New podcast this Thursday features drummers Steven Adler and Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg
TrunkNation tomorrow on Volume will have Twisted Sister’s founding member Jay Jay French joining me in studio.

I love the Stones, and I love Aerosmith, but if I could only see one band, one more time, it would be Aerosmith.
Darn, I wish I would have heard both John Bush. a great singer in a hugely underrated band, as well as the discussion of popular bands some don’t like….well, while I do like a few Guns & Roses songs, I cannot fathom how successful they have become considering they have been around for about 30 years and have released only 6 studio albums. Considering their output, quality of their music, and Axl’s behavior early in the band’s career, I think G&R are very overrated. I’m sure that’s not the popular opinion on this forum, but that’s just how I feel.
And I agree with Joey’s opinion….Aerosmith are better than the Stones. Aerosmith has the original 5 dudes, the Stones do not. Aerosmith themselves play live, the Stones do not (rely on backing musicians to help play live). Aerosmith released Draw the Line (My favorite Aerosmith album), the Stones did not…case closed.
I applaud Joey K. for speaking his mind! Why is it considered bad to have a personal opinion about something? He didn’t say that no one should listen to the Stones because they suck, he said he doesn’t care for their music. What’s the problem with that? I have had the same thing happen to me numerous times. For example, I am not a huge fan of the Beatles music. There are a few songs that I like, but overall, in my opinion they were not that great. Same thing with Hendrix. I acknowledge both of these artists’ influence on music, but they were just not my cup of tea. But I am sure that I will get some really negative responses to these statements. Why? My opinion is no more important than anyone elses’, so why should anyone care about it? People just need to chill out and acknowledge that we all have our preferences.
