Exclusive new late tonight. Ace Frehley called into my radio show live tonight and confirmed that he and Peter are being denied the opportunity to perform at the R&R Hall Of Fame ceremony by Gene and Paul, who will perform instead with the current band. Ace said (and the HOF confirmed to me directly) that the HOF wants the original band. However Gene and Paul to date have declined to allow this to happen. Ace said it was important he let the fans know exactly what was happening since tickets are about to go on sale to the public and he didn’t want fans to purchase them expecting a reunion performance even for a song or two. Ace said he is undecided if he will even attend in light of this decision. Even though the HOF would prefer the original band, they will not stand in the way of the current band playing if that is all Gene and Paul are willing to do. Assume anything is possible that something could change, but at this time there are no plans at all for Ace and Peter to play, or perhaps even be there depending what they decide. As I have said consistently when there was news to share I would let it come directly from a member, and tonight Ace let everyone know exactly what was going on. Said he was most upset for the fans who voted them in and were hoping to see a song or two, but also said it is now time to move on. He is working on a new album and said the stress was really killing him about the HOF and he needed to let fans know what was up before tickets went on sale. Peter will likely have a similar statement on his site tomorrow. I’ll continue to keep you posted as more info develops but that’s where things are at now. I’m sure the audio will be on YouTube of Ace’s call but you can hear the entire show next weekend as usual on all affiliate stations and online outlets as well. Sad day for long time Kiss fans but at least we know where things stand as of now. The producer/director for the HOF show Joel Gallen expressed an interest in coming on the air soon. Well, It is my belief that this is solely Paul Stanley. I’ve seen video of Gene saying he would play with Ace and Peter at the HOF and I’ve seen the tweets from Paul Stanley shooting it all down. I have officially hung up my Kiss Army Card and will never put another penny into that mans pockets. IMHO, Paul Stanley has taken the soul out of Kiss and replaced it with the highest bidder…and the fans lose. I’d like to Thank Paul Stanley for killing the dreams of all the kids who supported him and his band from the beginning and put him where he is today. Thanks for nothing. And I know that you, @Eddie Trunk, gave up your Kiss Army card along time ago but this was the final straw for me. It’s complete disrespect to Ace and Peter and an utter slap in the face to the fans. I’m done.

I knew it, leave it to Paul & Gene to screw everything up. So the 2 guys that always talked crap about the HOF ruin it for the 2 guys that were actually honored & excited? All they had to do is play without makeup, 2 songs with Ace & Peter & 1 song with everyone. I’ve been a fan since I was 10 yrs old in 1976 & this is such a slap in the face to all of us REAL fans. I was going to buy Paul’s book but I’m not giving another dime to anything regarding Kiss again. Ace & Peter will always have my support.
I think Gene and Paul need to come to their senses.Without Ace or Peter there wouldn’t have been KISS.Maybe Ace and Peter should go and get a Gene and Paul from some r KISS cover band and do their own world tour. If Gene and Paul can do it why can’t Ace and Peter do it?
I’m only 29 but always have been a KISS fan and supported every lineup. I even saw this current lineup twice even though just like many others I think Thommy and Eric should have their own characters. Now, I think what is happening with the HOF is disrespectful to the fans first of all but also to Ace and Peter. Nobody’s asking for a reunion tour there, people want to see the four originals celebrate what they created together. After they can all go back to what they do, I don’t have a problem with that, but THIS is disgusting to me. No matter what they say, even though they created the music, without fans to buy records, we wouldn’t talk about KISS and the HOF today.
I’m sorry for the way I speak but Gene and Paul became two money whores, they know damn well that if Thommy and Eric had their own characters people would go “wait, this isn’t KISS” and they wouldn’t tour arenas and stadiums anymore! Gene claims that KISS is now bigger than ever and they have a lot of new fans all around the world, truth is, I speak a lot with fans and most of them do believe they see Ace and Peter performing. I don’t know how many times I had to say or even read from other people that Ace and Peter are not in the band anymore. And Gene and Paul know that, without this they’d be done or if not, they’d be back to touring clubs. I used to be a huge Paul Stanley fan but I lost all respect for him and Gene. Paul is destroying his best songs now, but that’s another story…
As a follower of Gene and Paul on Twitter this bs seems to be all Paul’s decision. When Kiss was first voted in to the RRHOF, Genes tweets seemed to be ok with performing a few songs with all original members. However, Paul tweeted that basically, it will never happen. So, it’s obvious who’s decision it was to perform at the RRHOF. The band should have hung it up after the reunion. I seriously don’t understand how they sell any tickets to these shows. Do the people that attend Kiss concerts these days even know who is playing up there?!! I volunteer to interview some of these people and find out what they are thinking. As for all the fans of the real Kiss out there like myself, who cares anyway about the RRHOF. It a joke anyway, and so is the current Kiss. I love what you do Eddie. Your the best.
Agreed. There are a LOT of people who may still think it’s Ace and Peter up there. The reason they don’t change their setlist anymore is to keep the casual fans happy. Paul Stanley does not care about the hard cor…or die hard fans at all and has said so. I wish you would interview fans and see whats up and then tweet it all to Paul Stanley. He has completely ripped the soul out of Kiss single handidly…again…(IMHO)
