Eddie, can you PLEASE play something from Teramaze tonight??? Something like “Proverb Le Jame” from their album Anhedonia. You rock! And happy new year!
Eddie,
Your Twitter rant during yesterday’s Detroit/Dallas game was a riot. Guess the Giants have never ever got the big breaks like the Cowboys did. A bigger conspiracy than 9/11 I’m sure.
The penalty reversal in Detroit vs. Dallas was a scandal and an outrage, no question. I’m unable to make the leap however that it was somehow called in a quick huddle by the NFL brass. Calls get blown, and games hang in the balance. I was totally rooting for the Lions to get their first playoff win since 1992.
I also don’t think you can blame Chris Christie for celebrating when the Cowboys won. He wasn’t cheering the bad call, just the victory. I take him as his word that he’s a lifelong Cowboy fan. A win is not as sweet when it might possibly have come from a bad call, but how many NFL diehards won’t take the win, rationalizing that hey, sometimes the calls just don’t go your way, and that they tend to even out.
I don’t know all the ins and outs of New York/New Jersey football allegiences, so I’ll extrapolate from the 49ers versus the loathed Seahawks. If a politician I like, let’s just say Ronald Reagan, appeared in a Seahawk skybox and cheered a Seahawk win that came after an awful call, would I blame Reagan for celebrating at the end of the game. No, I’d still vote for him if I thought he was the best candidate.
As a Niners fan, I do feel Eddie’s pain this year.
Looks like Jimmy Kimmel finally has a killer band on next Wed!
