Super psyched to spend the next couple days with one of my all time rock heroes from one of my all time favorite bands Joe Perry. Joe will be live in studio with me tonight 6P ET on TRUNKNation (SiriusXM channel 39 Hair Nation) talking about his great new book and maybe even taking some calls from you guys. Then tomorrow I host Joe’s book launch and Barnes & Noble Union Sq NYC at 7P! My interview and Q&A with Joe at this event will be recorded for my podcast that will then be posted this Thursday! Admission is free first come first served. So if in NYC be a part of this great event and also the first ever Eddie Trunk Podcast done live with an audience and Joe Perry! Remember everyone can hear what went down free and worldwide when we post the podcast on the usual outlets this Thursday.
Also tonight on the SiriusXM show Mark Tremonti calls in live from the road with Alter Bridge.
Hosted Stryper at BB Kings this past Saturday night. Regardless of what you think of this band or their beliefs you can not not be amazing at how great they are live. The dual guitar playing and four part harmony vocals are just stunning and Michael Sweet is just incredible playing and singing locked in with Oz Fox. I have rarely heard a band sound this good at BBs. In this day and age with so many bands putting vocals (and more!) on pre recorded tracks it is even more incredible to witness how Stryper sounds live! Good seeing the guys and also my bud Richard Christy from the Howard Stern show who was hanging and watching his favorite band. Was a fun night!
Looking forward to this weekend at the Paragon Casino in Marksville LA hosting the rock fest Friday and Saturday. Both of my books will be for sale at the show as well as T-shirts and other merch. I’ll do my best to get out and sign all as well. Follow on Twitter or will announce from the stage when and where I will be during the event.

Eddie are you hearing that Phil Rudd wasn’t at the video shoot this past weekend. You know anything?
I have not
Eddie, Have u ever dealt with Jim Ladd?
Know him but not well
Reason I ask about Ladd, Thirty something years ago when he was working at the legendary KMET (kmetal) he was dreaming about doing things that you have done in your recent work history. Ladd is considered a hard rock legend on the left coast but because of many self created problems he wasn’t able to expand his career the way you did. He seems kind of bitter about it as father time has taken its toll.
Phil Rudd does not get along with nephew Young. Apparently Phil body slammed nephew at a recent meeting. Paraquat Kelly reports Phil could be moving on.
Hi Eddie, I’m really curious to hear what Joe has to say about the album “Done With Mirrors”, that album is so underrated! I always wondered if it went under the radar because as far as I know, they never made a video for any of the songs on the album. Of course the idea to print everything backwards didn’t help it either, but back in ’85/’86 if you didn’t make a video for MTV to play, you had to rely on radio, and I don’t recall hearing any songs from “Done With Mirrors” on the radio. If it wasn’t for reading about a new Aerosmith album in Metal Edge magazine, I probably wouldn’t even have known about the album for a long time. I remember seeing that tour with Ted Nugent at MSG, one of the best concerts ever! Maybe Joe Perry can shed some light on why that album was/is so underrated, be great if he covers it in his book. Great album & tour, the comeback before the “comeback”! 😉
He talks about it in his book. There were a couple videos from the album too. Check Youtube. My Fist Your Face is great!
Thanks Eddie, but that’s unbelievable, I can’t believe I never seen those videos! MTV must have shown them very rarely and at the same time, I was probably listening to the radio, or the album! LOL! 😉
There was a video for My Fist Your Face???
“Done With Mirrors” was my first Aerosmith album, I’ve always really liked it. Only song I remember hearing on the radio was “Let The Music Do The Talking”. Then they went pop with “Permanent Vacation”, so in some ways DWM to me is kind of the last gritty rock Aerosmith album. Not that they haven’t had some great hard rock tracks since then, they have, but it’s like it was sort of an “end of an era” record, to my ears at least.
There is a video for Let the music do the talkin, also Sheila got some airplay. This is my favorite Aerosmith album. I saw this tour also. Nugent came out during Aerosmiths set to help sing Happy Birthday to Tyler.
“Done With Mirrors” got little airplay. Geffen must have been going crazy with Neil Young and Aerosmith back then……then Axl showed up.
“Let the music do the talking ” I seen them in cleveland on that tour thought they sucked
Eddie,
Any buzz or info on Mike Sweet & George Lynch collaboration?
How far are they on material? THX.
