Hope everyone had a good weekend. Was fun hanging at the Chiller show in NJ over the weekend. Thanks to all who came to my signings. Also cool to spend some time with my TMS partner Don Jamieson and chat some with Lita Ford, Cherie Currie, Marky Ramone and Tony Orlando. Yes Tony Orlando! Clearly not a rocker but as a kid growing up in the 70’s he was a part of my childhood and was a super nice guy. Also hung with Ace Frehley for a few minutes. He is excited about the upcoming live shows which kick off in NJ 11/13 at the State Theater. Win tickets for this and many other shows by visiting “ET’s Box Office” on this site! See you there.
Both of my books are available via mail and make perfect gifts for the coming holidays. Please hit the “Books” tab on this site for order info. I’ll mail it anywhere in the USA and write whatever you’d like as far as personalization. Order early for plenty of delivery time and be sure to specify VOL 1 or VOL 2 with your order! Thanks.
Live SiriusXM show tonight 6-10P ET on channel 39 TRUNKNation (Hair Nation). Guests include Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest and Glenn Danzig. I’ll be hosting Priest this Thursday at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood FL. Meet me and grab a copy of either of my books after Priest inside the casino at the Hard Rock Cafe right after the show wraps up Thursday night.

Eddie, I’ve read both of your books front to back and and love them. But I had to buy your first book again because I leant it to my brother and someone at his job stole it out of his locker at work. Interestingly enough, my brother said he had two others in his locker next to your book: a Stephen King novel and another book I leant him, Dave Mustane’s book, and whoever took your book left those alone.
The newly remastered deluxe edition of Love Gun by Kiss came out today. All of the songs from the original album have been re-mastered (again). The package also comes with 11 bonus songs of demos & live tracks previously unreleased along with never before seen photos (at this point who cares?). Most retailers are charging anywhere from $24.99 & up. Huh??? This is absurd. The two Zeppelin deluxe released today come with bonus songs via a two cd package and cost much less. Though not surprised that Paul & Gene are still trying to profit from the glory days of the Ace/Peter Era (note that no other cds have been released with demos from Thayer or Singer other than a bonus disc from Sonic Boom where the current lineup rerecorded 15 songs from you guessed it the Ace/Peter era), it is very disappointing that they continue to publicly bash Ace & Peter while continually profiting from that Era both with rereleases like Destroyer Resurrected & Love Gun along with concert set lists which rarely feature any original music from the current lineup.
LOVE GUN is so OVERRATED, especially coming after the amazing ROCK AND ROLL OVER.
Title Track, ISYL and Shock Me are only tracks worth mentioning.
And the album cover art is awesome.
Kiss redeemed themselves with side 4 of Alive 2
REALLY enjoyed the chat with Glenn! It’s always an interesting discussion about the setlist. I have to say I was blown away that they are doing 4 songs off the new album. I don’t remember them doing that going back to Painkiller, maybe. However, Eddie, have to strongly disagree with you that they are hitting every era. On this tour, there are no songs from Nostradamus, Angel of Retribution, Painkiller or Ram It Down. That’s a HUGE stretch that they ignore this time around (and that’s not including the two albums with Tim that they pretend don’t exist – hehe). And, nothing from Point of Entry either. I get why they can’t do 2.5 hours anymore. But it always comes down to ignoring a VERY string, deep catalog for the likes of Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight.
Anyway, it’s an argument us Priest fans will always have. 🙂
Eddie, all I have to say is your mind will be blown when they play Devil’s Child, Sinner and Victim of Changes on Thursday. And Richie really has stepped up and found his place in the band. His energy level is what they need and he really brings it every night. I was sort of iffy on him the last tour, because I thought he was TOO over-the-top on stage. But with the new album and tour, I’ve become a big fan.
Bummed you didn’t ask any fan questions. 😛
Forget Ripper, its disgraceful that they don’t acknowledge original lead singer Al Atkins! Al only named the band, wrote all their early stuff including Victim of Changes, Rocka Rolla, Dreamer Deceiver, and many more. Halford has never had a problem singing all Al’s songs but will tell u he never heard of Atkins. Al also hired KK Downing. All this b.s. that KK started the band is just that, B.S.
Wood, did someone piss in your cereal this morning? Al Atkins has NOTHING to do with the success and longevity of that band. Period.
Did your boyfriend break up with u again? Who said anything about longevity? Atkins wrote all the songs on all their early stuff. And named the band. Whats the problem panty boy?
“Wood,”
I tried contacting you offline out of respect, but what a surprise, your e-mail doesn’t work. Anyway, if you cannot play nice in the sandbox, I will be forced to give you a time out 🙂
Please stop the taunting and trolling, it is really unnecessary. You can make your points without without all the baiting.
Thanks,
Dana from ET.com 🙂
PS-Judas Priest is my favorite band, so be nice. Glenn admitted the band changed their minds about retirement, so what? How many countless bands have announced farewell tours only to defy their statements? Judas Priest is certainly not the first, nor will they be the last. It’s simple, if you don’t like them, don’t go to their shows. But, don’t judge others because they have the desire to see the band perform live.
DC Panty, Richie brings it EVERY night? Are u a groupie DC?
Eddie: I had to miss the danzig interview, son’s hockey practice. Where can I hear it.
thanks,
Mike Bass
Maybe online? Or the SiriusXM app should have it up. Glenn spoke very softly and was tough to hear.
Yes, it’s online on Sirius On Demand.
