Either I am out of touch with the popularity of a lot these bands, or there are a bunch of “no names” performing at this Festival Which is it??????

I agree, Rattlehead. As I review this list of bands, I see maybe 20 bands that I have even heard of. I will admit, however, that I am not as up to date on a lot of the newer hard rock/ metal bands as I used to be. But, even with the bands I have heard of, there aren’t many BIG names in this lineup. Poison, Godsmack, Ghost, Halestorm, Cheap Trick, and STP are pretty big names, but I would not say they are MAJOR bands. Vince Neil without the rest of Motley Crue isn’t much. Tom Kieffer I like, but again as a solo artist isn’t a huge draw. For the price of these tickets, I guess they are going for total number of bands as opposed to bringing in really big names like Iron Maiden, Metallica, etc.

Rattlehead I am with you. I do think Red Sun Rising is a great band. But most of those other bands are a bunch of ham and eggers. I am not a fan of these festivals like Rock On The Range. There are simply too many bands. Short sets, multiple stages distorting each other. In my opinion, these festivals are great for people in their 20’s who just want to get drunk, get high and get laid haha. I am 43 years old. My wife and I went to Rock On The Range several years ago specifically to see Alter Bridge, Slayer & Down. Alter Bridge played 8 songs, it felt rushed and the sound quality is horrible in Mafre Stadium. We went to see Alter Bridge at The Newport in August of this year. It was nearly a 2 hour set, sounded great and was an amazing show. The cost of these festivals is outrageous as well. Most do not include parking each day either. It is similar to cable tv. You have to buy packages of at least 200 channels although you may only watch 10 of those channels regularly. I am simply not a fan of these festivals. I might have felt differently 20 years ago haha.
