Just back from a phenomenal run of W coast stand up shows with Don & Jim. Thanks to all who came out to Vamp’d in Vegas, The Whiskey in LA and Ramona Main Stage in the San Diego area. Couldn’t begin to tell all the stories here from a great weekend but I truly appreciate all the support. Doing these live gigs has been a blast and we will be announcing more soon. I also have several solo appearances coming up including this weekend at the Hard Rock on Hollywood FL with Slash this Friday and Deep Purple Sunday. Please note my meet & greets and books signing/sellings for these events will be AFTER the show inside the casino in the Hard Rock Cafe. Should be around 15-30 minutes after the shows wrap. There is no opening act on either and Slash is on at 8, Purple at 7P. Hope to see you in S Florida, always a fun time!

Continued great response to my podcast. Thanks for that. New this Thursday will be a TMS special with Don & Jim hanging with me and we will do our top 5 albums of the year so far. Then a week from Thursday an exclusive with Michael Anthony! The Eddie Trunk Podcast is FREE and worldwide on Itunes or www.podcastone.com

Watched a great documentary on Ginger Baker on the plane called “Beware of Mr Baker”. If you like rock docs check it out.

Live SiriusXM show tonight 6-10P ET on channel 39 TRUNKNation. Don & Jim will hang for a bit and Steve Morse of Deep Purple checks in live. More soon.

  1. Hi Eddie, I was just wondering if you think Ted Nugent will ever get into the HOF?
Self titled debut, Free-For-All, Cat Scratch Fever, Double Live Gonzo!, Weekend Warriors.
What else does someone have to do to be qualified? In the 70’s, The Nuge was “almost” as big as anybody, including Kiss, Aerosmith, and so on. I know a lot of people don’t agree with him or like him
personally or politically, but musically, in my book he’s up there with the best of them. I know we’re still waiting on Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Yes, Judas Priest, Scorpions, and a few others to get in the HOF, but what do you think Uncle Ted’s chances are? 🙂

    1. Snowballs chance…he doesn’t deserve to get it, but then again so many acts that are in there now don’t deserve to be in. But with his non-PC stance? Not a chance. Doesn’t mean I don’t like his music, but it should be a HOF…not a HOPretty good.

BTW, Def Leppard, Yes, and Scorpions are right where they should be…on the outside of the HOF looking in. Decent bands, but not HOF material.

      1. Just based on the music, and nothing else, IMO Ted should be in. As should the rest of the bands that I mentioned, I mean hell, if HOF wants to recognize ABBA, RUN DMC, LL COOL J or whatever as HOF material, what do you call, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Yes, Scorpions, Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent, MUSICALLY, if not HOF material? BTW, I hope you and everybody in your area recover & rebuild from the earthquake, Godspeed, and good luck.

        1. Thank you sir for the kind words about the earthquake recovery. Having lived in the bay area for my entire life, I’m used to earthquakes but they still remain a rather scary event no matter how many of them that you go through. Came out fine this time…back in 1991 my house was knocked off it’s post/pier foundation and the entire brickwork from my chimney collapsed due to a quake, so this time I consider myself fortunate.

Couldn’t agree with you more about your HOF comments…way too many bands that are in there that shouldn’t be. Especially if they aren’t really rock and roll bands just like the ones you mention.

    2. Sorry, Ted will never make it in the HOF. He doesn’t deserve to. he simply just doesn’t have the catalogue. Kind ol like David Lee Roth would never make it in as a solo artist.

      1. Ted Nugent, Free-For-All, Cat Scratch Fever, Double Live Gonzo!, Weekend Warriors,
State Of Shock, Scream Dream, Intensities In 10 Cities.
Sounds like a pretty damn good catalogue to me!
A lot better than a lot of “artists” already in the HOF. 😉

  2. I bet all the farting that Don and Jim did in southern California had something to do with the earthquake in northern California. Those boys can really blast’em.

    1. Kind of a dumass comment. I was in the earthquake on Sunday. Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Not likely with that kind of dumass attitude. Would love to see you hitting the ground and yelping like a hyena like I’ve seen some people do that experienced their first one. Lots of folks here in NCal lost homes, got injured. We were lucky…just some stuff knocked off the walls.

      1. Rule of thumb: it’s OK to riff on Don and Jim’s flatulence issues, just don’t try to tie it in with natural disasters or other tragedy–look, it’s bad enough to stand as its own disaster.

  3. I know you have talked about many bands to get into the hall of fame…but Cheap Trick is well deserved..they have been around close to 40 years…many greats look up to them as a great influence….Why dont you think that Aerosmith and big bands like to take them on the road..they are a class act..and not many people have lungs like the Great Robin Zander !

  4. Good Afternoon. Love the show when I am able to watch. 53 year old grandpa that loves hard rock. Still hard for me to call it heavy metal as that term came after several years of listening to hard rock. Live near the Cincinnati area and one of my best friends has a son who is the drummer for a group called Electric Citizen . If you love hard rock from the 70’s check out their first album call Sateen. They have a great stage show and the music is really really good. Thanks

  5. Ted clearly deserves to be in the rock hall of fame. I’m not even a fan of his music, but the guy is a rock legend. I remember seeing him opening for KISS on their “farewell” tour and the guy had a presence on stage that few have, a true rock star…a dying breed. Some people may not like his views, but I have a hell of a lot more respect for people like Ted who are honest about their feelings than those who aren’t.

  6. Saw TMS live at the mainstage Ramona. Don’t know who the booking guy is but he gets some good gigs for being about 30/45 min from San Diego. A all female Black Sabbath band opened. They were cool but all female Black Sabbith cover band sounds a lot better than it was. Next was a UFO cover wich was awesome to see Eddie Rockin’ out on the side stage. Then Eddie came out do an awesome Kathy Griffen style sta

  7. Whoops An awesome Kathy Griffin style stand up with stories of Ace Freely and going bowling. I could have listen to stories like that all night. I don’t think TMS Live needs any opening bands. Maybe take a page from Diggnation. It’s the long tail theory. Stump the Trunk was Awesome when a TMS fan who was obviously also a fan of Doctor ask Eddie Tardis Iron Maiden questions. Eddie got it with out even Knowing what a Tardis was. Then for the meet and greet we were shoved in a tiny green room with them. I’m a big freakin’ Dude and so’s my buddy. We could stop giggling that we were meeting the guys and shoved in such a small space. Also Mandy Lion. I ain’t saying nothing but we couldn’t stop giggling about Mandy Lion. In fact we’ve been laughing all week about Mandy Lion. Let’s just say I’d be the biggest fan of the “Mandy Lion Reality Show” you could not have made him up….
