VAN HALEN TO HEADLINE THE MUSIC MIDTOWN FESTIVAL IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA
Van Halen have just announced that they will co-headline this year’s Music Midtown festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA.
The band will be joined on the weekend of September 18th-19th by co-headliners Elton John, Drake and Sam Smith
“Every year, we strive to take the festival to a new level and this year is certainly no exception,” said Peter Conlon, President of Live Nation Atlanta. “With the addition of a fourth stage and this year’s stellar lineup, I think we have done it again!”
Tickets for the festival go on sale this Saturday, June 27th at 10 a.m. EST at www.musicmidtown.com, www.livenation.com, or by phone at (800) 745-3000. As the official credit card of Music Midtown, Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Wednesday, June 24th at 10 a.m. EST through Friday, June 26 at 10 p.m. through Citi’s Private Pass Program.

It’s almost not worth wasting time to post a comment on what is left of VH. Got on board with VH in the early 80’s and what people are looking at today is not VH, just a money grab. The youth and spirit that goes along with the original sound is far, far, far gone. And of course, having an incapable bass player even adds to the drama of the band. Age can be a b*****, and no matter who you are, an individuals voice changes with age, unfortunately some artists don’t work at keeping vocally prepared for the job. If wasting money for an unprepared vocalist and incapable bass player is your thing, have fun at the circus act. Damn shame that legendary bands of the 70 / 80 era are fading away like this.
As a lover of 80’s Hard Rock and of course Van Halen, I am so glad that they are touring and now giving a diversified crowd a taste what a rock n roll party should look like. I guarantee you that’ll out rock every other act on the bill. Listening to the live CD a lot it makes me realize that Dave can sing all the stuff, he just changes up how it was sung originally. Which why not, do you really want to hear the same exact version but just with canned screams from the audience over it. He’s just trying to make it interesting. To himself and the crowd.
