I watched some live clips of these guys. Evan is a star. He has that “it” factor. Nick, well, not so much. Nick sang a song on Bruce Kulick’s BK3 album. It’s entitled, “Hand Of The King.” I thought Nick killed it on that song and that he was on his way. But seeing him perform live, it’s just awkward. When he sings solo on these Stanley Simmons tunes, it doesn’t sound as good as Nick and when I heard him on Bruce’s album. Now when he and Evan sing together, it’s great. It’s not my band, but if I was the manager, I’d have Nick in the background, sitting down at the keyboard and just singing with Evan, background vocals. I’d have Evan as the only frontman and just let him do his thing. Evan with famous baby daddy’s, it’s going to be hard for these two to really make it. They won’t be selling out arenas. Some changes need to be made if they are ever going to play to more than 100-200 kiss fanboys.
Oh hell no! I just watched the video. Are they both sitting Indian style? And even worse, Nick is barefoot!!! So gross! No bare feet unless you’re a woman and they are pretty!
Cheap video & totally getting peace pipe vibes. The lyrics do not match the poorly and cheaply done video. Worst of the three songs they’ve released so far and I really do like the first two songs.
RPS,
LOL!!!
Simon & Garfunkel lives!
Yes, and their first single sounded like Crosby, Stills and Nash.
While there is absolutely nothing new here, it is completely recycled (I guess they are environmentalists, too) “rock” folk music. It seems as though, they are trying to revive the genre, and re-package it to a younger audience, who may not have been exposed to that sound. In a way, it then becomes “original” to a specific targeted naive listener, whilst also appealing to an older generation longing for nostalgia.
At least they didn’t go the hard rock/heavy metal route, which would have been an obvious and expected choice.
Puked in my mouth a bit after about ten seconds and turned it off.
LOL!!
I think it’s great that the boys (sorry, they will always be kids to me) formed a band….their voices blend nicely, and I would bet they do it for real without auto tuning it….. This song is cool, I wasn’t crazy about Body Down…but I would suggest blending this eclectic sound into a more conventional rock sound…I should probably check out their record now.
