SLASH STREAMS NEW SONG “DRIVING RAIN,” LISTEN HERE

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators have released a stream of their brand new single Driving Rain.

It’s the first song from the band’s upcoming album Living The Dream, which is set to arrive on September 21st through Slash’s own label Snakepit Records and Roadrunner Records. To read more about this release, please go here.

Speaking about the tune, Slash says, “This is a riff I specifically remember playing with the guys for the first time at a venue in New Hampshire on the World On Fire tour. It’s a cool guitar part we ran though, and from that point forward the rest of the song started to come together in my mind while on the road. We put it all together this year and Myles came up with a great melody for it.”

Singer Myles Kennedy adds, “The riff is very reminiscent of vintage Aerosmith. It’s got a certain funk to it that’s compelling.

Lyrically, it’s a story about somebody who works on the road – it could be a musician, and it could be a traveling salesman. What makes it interesting is this guy has an addict girlfriend or spouse who continues to relapse, and she ends up getting him to come home.

She’s miserable and falls back into bad old habits, and that compels him to head back to her to save the day.”

That’s a really good song. Tons of energy and excitement. Not surprising, Slashes solo marerial has always been quality. Keep it coming.

I still need to listen to this but Doug R., did you notice that “Out of Control” has the main riff to “Ride the Lightning?”

    • Doug R. on

Yep, just 1 of many. That’s the problem when you create a masterpiece, everybody wants a piece of it. The Ride The Lightning riff may not be exactly the same, but the similarities are obvious.

Cat Scratch Fever is a really good record; Death By Misadventure is another good one. You’re right Doug, I was wrong. Wrong about the velocity levels on there. Wrong about that relentless strafing…and speaking of chicken, for the heck of it I got a whole chicken and then marinated the pieces in buttermilk overnight, then I put pancake mix on it, some salt, and then baked it at 300 for about an hour….I tell ya…I’ll take my chicken over anybody’s chicken Doug.

Chicken, buttermilk, pancake mix, mmm, now you’re talking, I’ll be right over! I’ll bring the brew!
      “Clown’s Chicken, Get Your Wings”
I like the sound of that! 😉

Me too! I have the beer too, I’m drinking light beer these days….this method of preparing my own food is easier on my health too.

You never forget your first, beer that is! Schaefer, 1979, I was only 13! 😉 Cheers!
