It’s hard to fathom, that it has been a year since iconic frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, has passed away.
His former Black Sabbath bandmate, Tony Iommi, honored the singer by writing on his Instagram:
“Hi everyone.
Well, it’s now a year since Ozzy’s passing and I still can’t believe that he’s not with us.
I watch him on YouTube and it feels like he’s still here with us. We always stayed in touch, almost every week or so and we’d usually talk about our ailments and then about what we’d been doing that particular week.
The fans have been absolutely brilliant and the love and respect that they have shown for him has just been amazing.
I’m so glad that we were able to play one final show with the original line up of Sabbath at the Back To The Beginning show in our home town of Birmingham! There will never be another Ozzy. I miss you my dear friend.

Osbourne‘s wife, Sharon, spoke with the BBC and said, “As Ozzy would say, ‘when you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang’.”
“He was authentic,” she remembered. “He never tried to be anything other than what he was, and he would tell you the truth about everything and that was him, you knew where you were with him.”
“He was just genuine, so genuine and funny,” she added. “I mean we could have the worst arguments in the world but we would end up laughing because he would say something so ridiculous that we would just crack up.”

Unbelievable – one year already.
As I write this, I’m listening to Ozzy perform with Black Sabbath at his first retirement tour in 1992 which appeared on the Live and Loud album.
As a huge, huge fan, I was going to travel up to Birmingham today. I however decided against it, probably because I knew that there would be many others doing the same thing and that there would probably be TV cameras, etc. I wanted to pay tribute privately, so here I am listening to the great man. The music will never ever die….and neither will Ozzy.

Yeah man I can’t believe it’s been a year now. Why is time going by so fast? Losing Ozzy and Hulk Hogan in the same week for a devastating blow for me. They were both, and still are, icons that were both a huge part of my life. It also made reality hit me right between the eyes saying we are not immortal and yes we are all going to die.
RIP Ozzy Lives on in hearts and minds. Glad I had the chance to see him solo and with his old band mates in Sabbath.
Unfortunately I only had the opportunity to see the great and powerful Oz once, and believe me I took full advantage of it! November 1992, Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia! You know how there are certain nights/concerts you never forget, this is 1 of them! God bless the Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebel!
Must’ve been an awesome show. My first time for both Ozzy & Sabbath was Ozzfest 97 & 98. Never forgotten those shows.
Been listening to Ozzy most of the day. So much great music to choose from! Really miss him, still doesn’t seem real.
Wow, hard to believe it’s been a year since Ozzy’s passing. I saw Ozzy four times as a solo artist (twice on the “Diary…” tour, and one each on the “Bark…” and the “Ultimate Sin” tours) and one time with Black Sabbath on “The End” tour. For me, Ozzy will always be remembered as one of the best frontmen in rock and roll. Nobody could get an audience fired up, and lift them, like Ozzy could do it.
