Saxon. So many great songs. Saw them open for maiden in 83 piece of mind tour. It was the power and the glory tour for them. Kicked me in the teeth. One of my favorite bands of all time. That was and still is metal!
San Antonio may be ..
Not sure why I missed Saxon back in the 80’s (I listened to every other metal band at the time) but I “discovered” them about 5 years ago and keep asking myself why did it take so long. Their early stuff is killer as is their newer stuff.
It’s not on the list here, but it is on their Website that they will be in Oklahoma City on September 29th and I can’t wait! I have been doing what I can to promote the show. I have been posting YouTube videos on FB trying of Saxon to get my metalhead friends and those who have let their inner metalhead wither to get their butts to this show.
That’s great! There are a few Saxon fans out there still. I’ve been to every show that they’ve done in the sf bay area since power and the glory. Very small clubs but that makes it even better for me. I will be at the sf show this year too, dragging all my 45 year old buddies along. It doesn’t matter how many people show up to the shows because Saxon still gives 100 percent every time. Do yourself a big favor and buy power and the glory, crusader, denim, wheels of steel. Even the later albums like unleash the beast kicks ass.
I am seeing saxon tonight in dallas and sunday night in oklahoma city. seen the unleash the beast tour in dallas in 1998 and the very next night seen them at the blue bonnnet pallace in san antonio. what was realy cool was pat travers band opened up for them in san antonio. BOOM BOOM OUT GOES THE LIGHTS. Also i drove to houston texas in 2011 and seen the Call to Arms tour. I live in denton texas north of dallas.
Where are the stops in New England??????
They need to come to Tampa…
