Drummer Bobby Blotzer has confirmed he’s taken over the Ratt name following a five-year trademark battle.
He’s moved on without former singer Stephen Pearcy who quit last year and has gathered a lineup consisting of frontman Josh Alan, bassist Scotty Griffin and guitarists Blaze and Doc Ellis, and they will be launching on the Re-Invasion tour across North America in 2016.
The band say in a statement, “After a five-year battle over trademark issues, doing everything he could to appease and re-assemble the band, Bobby Blotzer, the CEO of WBS Inc. has taken control of the Ratt brand. He’s taking his multi-platinum Ratt back on the road, bringing fans the songs they love and shows they’ve missed, continuing to build upon Ratt’s legendary legacy.”
A full run of 2016 dates will be revealed in time.
Pearcy revealed earlier this year that he’d recorded one final song with Ratt before his departure but admitted he could accept it if it never saw the light of day.

they look like the staff at a heavy metal hair salon.
this lineup bites the big juan.
The LYNYRD SKYNYRD comparison doesn’t really apply here. They are a continuation of a 1985 reformation that is still in demand. I see them every time they come around and they are always great. FREEBIRD, though played out is iconic along the lines of STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN and no other American band has a song like that. Off topic: IN THE EVENING off IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR is amazing. So SKYNYRD is very much motivated by the fans. RATT doesn’t really have a song like SIMPLE MAN. RATT does have some qualify stuff and if people have interest in this incarnation then go see them and enjoy it. As far as taking dumps in public, that is disgusting and nobody would purchase tickets for that.
Completely ridiculous argument. Also, get your facts straight. The tribute tour for Lynyrd Skynyrd was in 1987. It is a joke that they call themselves Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie, Allen, Billy, Leon, and Steve are all dead. Of the members that were on the plane when it crashed in 1977, exactly 2 are alive and only one is in the band, Gary Rossington.
You say that Skynyrd is “very much motivated by the fans”. Of course they are, they need the money. Here’s a hint. Do some research before you spout off on something you know nothing about.
Good God I was off by 2 years. Artemis Pyle is the other plane crash survivor but he wasn’t an original member. Ricky Medlocke, the current guitarist was an original drummer. So in a way, they have 2 originals and the guys brother as well as Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. Why can’t Gary Rossington use the bands name? Did he murder his bandmates in order to take all of the money? Elvis said that you’d grow to be an angry young man someday. I guess financial motivation in a capitalistic society is an evil thing. SKYNYRD has a huge following which may have something to do with delivering a quality product throughout their history.
Furthermore, I do apoligize for not doing enough research on charging money for public displays of defecation.
Two Artemis Pyle references in one week Richman?
As far as RATT in the living room, just buy a DVD or BLU RAY and low and behold, there they are. The QUIET RIOT thing is a slippery slope because METAL HEALTH, love it or hate it is one of the most important albums in heavy metal history. METAL HEALTH like FREEBIRD is always deserving of an audience. Hey, I wonder what song inspired THUNDERBIRD. As far as this drummer motivated RATT whatchamacallit goes? I’m gonna pass. The CEO of RATT? What am I nuts? Which side of THE GREAT WALL OF TRUMP will Blotz be performing on. Will THE DONALD let Blotz back in? WAY COOL JR. MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Can Eddie get TRUMP on TMS?
Bobby Blotzer makes Geoff Tate look credible.
